Speculation - Market Makers Short of Stock11 Mar 2026 10:53
Seems that a few posters here do not understand what is playing out here, and why I have taken a speculative position today.
The recently announced placing needs to be approved by shareholders. The recently announced TR-1 holder, Mike W aka DocH, who knows how the mechanics of AIM work better than most, has taken enough shares that he effectively has the voting power to vote for the placing not to occur (Result > SP rises). Primarily this is because of (speculation) that market makers have forward sold these new placing shares prior to them being issued.
If the placing is cancelled, then the shares need to be settled to make the book whole and all things equal (bought back from the market) which can only happen if you entice sellers (rising share price). This coupled with savvy punters who are aware of the play also contributes to the short squeeze that plays out, which at these sub £2Mcap valuations can result in several hundred % rises.
Now the company can choose to cancel the placing in leiu of this information, and raise at a much higher price which will be less dillution for all holders (Result > SP rises) Effectively it can be done the 'easy' way or the 'hard' way... but this is what is playing out, and they cannot place without the shareholder vote (Which they wont have, because Mike has significant voting power, as well as many that follow him in to these)
Shareholders benefit from any placing being done at a higher price, which means less dillution for all.
This is my opinion not fact and not financial advise, all based on publically available information.
