@noggers perhaps it is a little bit pointless to short Fres shares now ......:
with results of Fres expected to be excellent given the price of PM has been very high on average through-out the year;
with gold trending up as inflation is going up and the Feds are doing nothing about in the short term;
Covid is still here and will be here for the foreseeable so any attempts to reopen fully the economy will result in additionally embarrassing U-turns, which by the way is bad for all of us, except for gold...

LOL you are right Astro on the first bit, but going back to talk about stocks, as Fres results are fast approaching and Gold might keep the upward trend given the accommodative stance of the Feds on inflation, it will be more difficult to keep the lid on this share
and so is Fres. You need to try harder Astro from now on...
half year report not far from now either with average gold price around 1835 for the year = fab gains for the company.
The train is about to go north everyone on board :-)
the Fed is still a ways off from altering policy, expects inflation to moderate. Opss .... gold liked it
Will be important to assess whether the less dovish approach of the Feds has any reasons to exist or not
Today’s gold action seem to follow the typical shenanigans before a key update.

Carvegyber,
Same here about being loaded.
I agree with you the Feds. Two increase in interest rate by the of 2023, is this the best they could possibly do ? seem very dovish to me too.
The bullions banks probably took this as a lifeline to try to lower as much as possible the price of gold before the end of June when Basel III kicks in Europe.
But still at this metal price there is plenty of profit made by Fres, that should be reflected in share price soon.
Looking at both Hoc and Fres they seemed to be both being affected by the outcome of the recent elections. I suppose in countries where there is a left government in power and where the economy has been hit hard by Covid it would be a no brainer to tax more the only few sources of income like gold and silver miners. However, in Mexico president AMLO who has been in power for the last 3 years and did not put any extra taxes on miners previously and by the way it failed to win super-majority in midterms although kept is majority in the lower house of congress with the support of controversial ally (this last bits taken from an article online).
Mining company make profit from price of gold of around 1200-1300.
Price of gold has been in average above 1840 this year.
Gains will be reflected in the share price sooner or later. This insane valuation of fres vs PM can not last ...
Perma.bear,
not sure what make sense to you...
If you believe that the share price is out of sink with the price of metal then we have the same view, hence my comment with Fres being a fruit and vegetable producer rather than a miner.
if you believe that Fres should be minimum £10+ and is being held back with several of the other gold and or silver miners like HOC, POG, CEY than we have the same view.
if you like the comments of the other two chaps I mentioned in my previous message, then I am afraid we do not have the same view.

Bonker,
Is that related to Basel 3 ? I thought that could have been a drive for higher gold / silver price ?

Millenium has increased their short position by 0.08% a day in the last couple of days.
Given the opposite trend of Fres to PMs today, it would not surprise me to see Millenium having increased their short position to a total of 0.8% tomorrow evening. A few millions share to be bought back in a "short" amount of time

Do not sell your share and let them burn when Fres will eventually start to move upwards
