In October 2025, JPMorgan announced a big initiative to invest up to $1.5 trillion over a decade into key U.S. industries, including rare earth minerals.
Canada: They’re putting together a total of around 8 billion dollars in various initiatives, including that two-billion-dollar sovereign fund and other investments
European Union: They’ve just committed about 3 billion euros (roughly a similar amount in dollars) for their rare earth action plan.
Japan: They’re in with about 2.7 billion U.S. dollars for their initiatives, plus partnerships abroad.
United Kingdom: They’ve got a smaller pot—around 50 million pounds plus some additional programs—so they’re more modest in comparison.
In 2024, the UK allocated about 2.8 billion pounds, which is roughly 20 percent of its aid budget, to support refugees and asylum seekers within the country.
In the UK’s 2025 Budget, the government announced the removal of the two-child limit on Universal Credit, which is expected to cost around 3.1 billion pounds by the 2029-30 fiscal year and aims to reduce child poverty.
