Will add some more perspective which each time people forget when talking about a vaccine....
'Protection from the flu virus varies for different age groups. In children aged 2-17, the flu vaccine prevented 66% of flu cases in 2016-17, 27% of flu cases in 2017-18, and 49% of flu cases in 2018-19'
Prof Holgate was hinting he is pleased there will be a vaccine BUT this will not protect all and it will go hand in hand with therapies! Anyone who thinks the vaccine will be a silver bullet is sadly mistaken!
As someone who ALWAYS has the flu vaccine, I can thoroughly recommend having it! But I am also aware its not 100% sucessful!
This will be a fantastic therapy and will save 100,000's of lives over the years! Notice I say 'Years', very much like the flu jab I believe we will 'live with' corona virus for some time to come and most likely will need an 'jab or therapy treatment' on a ongoing yearly basis, very much like the flu jab!
So sit back and enjoy a very long and exciting journey with this company!
