Hi BA, yes I downloaded the app, months ago, out of curiosity and would have watched something only I didn’t like what was on offer. I like their one token per month concept and I will eventually purchase a token and receive a free headset which I’ll then use for Melody VR haha. There is a revolution coming and many people don’t realise this, you can now get a portable 5G Wi-fi hub so that when you leave the house you can take it with you because it’s runs from batteries too. You can connect up to twenty devices with some of them and it costs no more than when it’s used at home. In theory that means you could be on public transport or in your car and connected to 5G. I’m assuming Oculus will launch Oculus Go 2 with 5G that’s another game changer.
ÂŁ5.99 and you get a free VR headset...
This app https://livr.co.uk// has been out for months and every time I go on my Facebook timeline I’m bombarded with advertisements for it yet I’ve never seen one advertisement on my Facebook timeline for MelodyVR. Like I said it’s early days...
My point is unless you tell people to view the festival in VR using a cardboard headset they probably won’t bother and therefore the premium experience is lost. Why don’t they have a video on the app of a group of teenagers or whoever ordering a cardboard headset, putting it together and then slipping in the mobile and being amazed at the experience. I’m sure it will happen but it seems lost in translation at the mo, I realise it’s early days...
They need to get there skates on now and do another PAID for gig. I’ve got two criticisms of the wireless broadcast. They didn’t advertise enough the use of a mobile in a cardboard VR headset nor where to buy one be it google cardboard or another one. They had the countdown yet no mention of buying a headset that I saw. So people are not realising that they need one. If they had bought one then they’d be more likely to then buy the shows on the app. It’s like turning up to ride a horse but no one told you needed a saddle so the experience is not quite as enjoyable as it could have been. People also didn’t have much notice to buy a cardboard headset and I never saw them advertising that you could use an Oculus Go to watch it. If they want to make more money they need to sell their own branded cardboard headset and do it soon.
The price shot up last year around the placing and Oculus Go launch May 2018, there was a flurry of press releases and interviews that followed highlighting forthcoming intentions. Then there was a prolonged period of chunky juicy news drought and the price drifted down. It was almost like a vacuum with doubters becoming very vocal. What was clear though is that the management could keep things under wraps and spring big scale surprises at very short notice. What’s happened in the last couple of weeks has been unbelievable and yet it happened. It shows huge intent and massive commitment to the project of becoming the next Spotify or something similar. They need more content on the app and I’m sure soon they’ll launch pay per view live gigs and festivals. They also need a bit of celebrity or royal endorsement with maybe Prince Charles wearing a melody VR headset watching a concert, something that would get reported worldwide. I can see them covering sport too one way or another and maybe a tie up with a mobile giant such as Vodafone.
Haha I’m convinced MVR read this board. Please change the colour of that flashing square when you open the iOS app from red to white. It looks so cheesy being red. Amazing how MVR are going from a Liam Payne gig to a 3 day event all in one go. Suggests to me it will be closely followed by festivals where you pay..
People realise it yet but Melody VR have just created their own VR media channel. The new 5G home broadband is pretty neat, you can take it with you when you go miles away from your house.. Awesome for VR headsets, Oculus etc.
The eye tracking technology on the iPhone X IOS Melody VR app is so clever. How the hell does that work? It works yeah but how does it track your eyes to change the menus? It knows what your looking at and your eyes become the remote control. It’s an advertising dream and pretty awesome being able to change stuff just using your eyes.
Buy the company outright?
What all this fuss is about launching an app??? The app already exists and has done since May last year on Android. It’s the Oculus app and using a VR gear headset you can use the Oculus app to launch Melody VR. https://www.oculus.com/gear-vr/?locale=en_GB

I suppose the biggie is did they ever intend to make money from the music or the potential advertising or sell on? If I was running that company I would have said we are not paying anything until we turn a profit. Dragons den stuff!!
What I’d like to know is how much profit they make on each concert sold for £10? I could imagine it’s quite complicated working out who is owed what under each agreement. Is all that automated or done manually? And do they have to pay tax in each respective country on profits? I think the concept is brilliant but I could imagine working out whose owed what is very testing. In my opinion they need to get in with FB+1.
Does anyone still work there? Not seen AM on any media for months? Think they should have gone subscription model instead of pay per concert? They could then done a deal with Amazon whereby they pay a big wedge of cash to MVR in exchange for free subscription membership for Amazon prime users.
Why the full 360 version of the FREE Melody VR experiences on the Oculus Go are not available on the iPhone teaser app? Surely there would just need to be a link. In my head for some reason I reckon they’d need a hundred million in turnover to make any profit in a financial year after all costs. At some point though would each customer stop buying experiences due to lack of new content? In other words sales would plateau pretty quickly and I guess start falling. A new cinema release spikes then viewing numbers drop.
To the pic of Liam Payne...
???
Some more info. but do you take it with a pinch of salt?
