Jefferies reinitiates TT Electronics with 'hold' - price target 97 pence

Nice! Douglas Bay increase their holding from 5% to 6.65%. Sounds like their gearing up for some action.

Looking much better this morning. Hopefully the positive news flow this week is finally being digested. TTG is my biggest holding right now. Seems to me there's so much to play for here. GLA.

I suspect Qube are having a final push at bringing this down before closing their short bet. They're the only remaining short position.

Looks like Douglasbay Capital agree too. They just picked up 5%. Nice to see big buyers are confident about the value here.

Very surprised by the absence of director buying. Unless, of course there's a good reason, such as they're in talks with another interested party. I'm sure shareholders will be the last ones to find out. Regardless, I'm happy to hold at these bargain levels anyway. Very little downside imo.

Deutsche Bank research raises TT Electronics price target to 150 (135) pence - 'buy'

I don't think TTG'S institutional investors will let that happen. Between the top three II's they own over 26% of the issued shares. They've been invested here for some time, so their average buy price is probably a lot higher compared to where the share price is currently trading. I'd imagine they finally want to claw back some of their capital. They're probably actively meeting with TTG's board over the course of this week pressuring them to make this happen.

Agree. Seems to have turned the corner. Hopefully, the market will focus on the improving outlook for 2025. As has been mentioned, we really need to see some director buying to draw a line under the share price weakness. It does look particularly vulnerable to bid at these levels. Next few weeks should be interesting. GLA.

Shorters are having a final push before Thursday. Not unexpected. Personally, I'm expecting the price to touch 70p. We should hopefully see a decent rerate if the trading statement is positive together with short positions being closed.

Somewhat off topic, but nevertheless interesting to note that there was an offer for AQX this morning at a 120% premium. I know they're in completely different industries, but for me, it just highlights how unloved and undervalued some UK PLC's are. I wouldn't be surprised to see this taken out for a similar premium if things don't pick up after the trading update this week.

Well that little rally this morning was short lived. Someone is doing their darnest to hold this back for their own reasons. I can probably guess who.

I understand your concern, but personally I feel a large part of the decline from 100p is attributable to Worldquant's shenanigans. As someone else suggested here, Blackrock could have been in bed with Worldquant and the reduction in their holding may have simply been them lending their shares to Worldquant. Blackrock still have a significant 8.86% holding so I don't see them exiting any time soon. Don't forget Fidelity also own 10% and have even increased their holding slightly since the interims! No other institutional holders have reduced, which seems like a vote of confidence to me. Without doubt, this is in deep value territory now, so try not to lose sight of this fact. The rest is just noise.

I just noticed that Worldquant have reduced their short position from 0.59% to 0.49% which is great news! It's going to be difficult to track any further reductions as they don't need to report short positions under 0.5%. However, hopefully they will continue to reduce in the run up to the Q3 trading statement.

Interesting to note the late reported trades, such as the 352k purchase after hours yesterday. Can't help but think that is Worldquant trying to close their short position in an orderly fashion without attracting too much market attention. Once that happens together with a positive Q3 trading statement that everything seems to be on track again, will see this re-rate in very little time. TTG's institutional holders haven't reduced in a serious way, which seems to suggest they believe this is temporary blip. Personally, I'm happy to follow where the real money is, rather than being spooked by Worldquants games. I'd be amazed if we don't see them reducing in the coming days before the Q3 trading update. Unlikely. There's too much uncertainty around fixing the US production issues. If there is a predator, I'd imagine they will emerge after the Q3 trading update which should offer some clarity on when it's likely to be resolved. Just my opinion though.

Some chunky buying coming through. Worldquant closing?

I suspect this might touch 80 pence before Worldquant likely close their short ahead of the Q3 trading update on 14th November. Definitely been a successful trade for them. Hopefully better days ahead.
