Hi Wolf, yes I think Strat Aero could have a very good few years ahead here and I believe they have the new management in place now to make it happen. Have you seen this ? https://dronebelow.com/2018/03/02/new-drone-standards-will-spark-economic-revolution-uk/
Lotto-Callit,some interesting reading, there are a good number of large uk infrastructure projects that I think Aero will be in with a shout on that are coming up.And I think our new management have the connections to make it happen, they would be in my opinion the biggest contracts Aero have ever had.
A few interesting bits from Engineer Live http://www.engineerlive.com/content/new-drone-standards 5th March 2018 New drone standards are to be unveiled in the UK for the first time in Spring 2018 which are expected to lead to strengthened public confidence in safety, security and compliance within an industry which is set to be one of the fastest growth sectors in the world. These standards are set to release the true potential of this industry, which will revolutionise the way we live, and transform business sectors from transport to infrastructure, agriculture to medicine - across air, land, sea and space. Two years ago drones were forecast to spawn a $100 billion industry by 2020. But today the opportunities are perceived to be even greater than this since such projections were based upon available data at that time which predominantly focused on the air industry, and we define the entire drone industry as covering surface, underwater, air, and space. If you look at the entire picture the figures are much larger and growing faster than anyone expected. If you then forecast the impact of integrating drone technologies across these environments, the figures will take on an ever more exciting dimension. The potential for the drone industry worldwide is huge, and particularly for the UK economy where the combination of our intellectual capital our technology, engineering, innovation, governance, and above all, our development and support of high standards is world class.
Lotto, quite an interesting read and gives some insight on where the money men think the biggest revenue will come from within the sector.Strat Aero positioned nicely I might add :-)
I like your thinking Lotto :-) there is no doubt in my mind that this sector is going to get a whole lot more lucrative and is in the process of happening now.As the chief of the Bsi stated this tech will be used in a whole host of areas of commerce and indeed in everyday life.Lots of big companies are actively thinking of various ways they can cut costs and manpower including the likes of Tesco I kid you not.I mentioned earlier that the Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence Tech that Aero specialise in is going to be a real money spinner and our new chairman thinks that too because he stated the goal of becoming a Uk market leader is very possible. I see the right management at the right company at exactly the right time,a completely different proposition to where this company was just a few months ago and Geocurve may prove to be one of heck of a revenue builder IMO.
Hi Harry, yes there certainly is momentum building in the industry and as that news item I posted states there are people in power and in the associated standards bodies pushing this to be a major new growth area for the Uk economy. If you read that full text and then read what Trevor Brown Strat,s Executive Chairman said on the 8th Feb contract win there does seem some synergy here and a good chance the company will benefit from this growth. Trevor Brown, Executive Director of Strat-Aero, said "With this contract win Geocurve has demonstrated its potential to become a UK market leader in the supply of virtual reality and artificial intelligence surveying services to specialist customers on critical projects such as the Thames flood defences. Geocurve's use of innovative technology gives it the potential to transform the nature of surveying."
Tinlode, also a shortcut into a heaven ? lol Actually a good point you make there, both the church of england and the catholic churches of great britain and northern Ireland own a fair few properties between them and no doubt there could be some potential here.I mentioned the other day that The Highways Agency have an enormous budget for safety and survey work and employ an army of people to do it,the potential on that one is massive for this 2.9m market cap company :-)
http://www.engineerlive.com/content/new-drone-standards A great news item out today on engineer live, well worth a look to give an idea why this could shortly become a very hot little company in a hot growth sector.Once these new standards are issued I think we will see a raft of new work on offer for companies like Strat Aero from Government, non governmental organisations, and big business to name just a few and Strat already have many of the connections now in place to put themselves into a great position as this new high ROI industry grows.
Gige, this is exactly one of the areas that Strat Aero,s new management is keen on,Geocurve was designed for this type of operation and I believe they have even developed their own in house 3D software for this purpose. It should be noted that AERO are one of very few companies registered to do this type of work and this sector has been forecast to grow exponentially in the next two years. The company already have some connections here :-)
So a new model army lol ! seriously though the areas that the new management here are moving the company into can be very lucrative and repeat business.I am sure Nigel Burton and Trevor Brown are fully aware that this sector of the industry is set for rapid expansion and will position AERO for maximum benefit. They have also taken a big stake of the company too between them which portrays a high level of confidence they can turn this into a major player in the Uk.I will be adding a fair few more of these as we develop :-)
Lotto, also add to that the calibre of Strat Aero new management whom I believe will make this company very profitable quickly. And it is clear they have taken over at a perfect time to exploit the many opportunities that are around at present in this huge growth sector.Did you see the comments of the British Standards Institute,s boss last week ? Two years ago drones were forecast to spawn a $100 billion industry by 2020. But today the opportunities are perceived to be even greater than this since such projections were based upon available data at that time which predominantly focused on the air industry, and we define the entire drone industry as covering surface, underwater, air, and space. If you look at the entire picture the figures are much larger and growing faster than anyone expected. If you then forecast the impact of integrating drone technologies across these environments, the figures will take on an ever more exciting dimension.
Lotto, there is lots of money to be made in the survey area of this business and Strat,s new management are well aware of this,in the short time they been here they have already landed a very nice contract with the environment agency which in my opinion will be expanded and built upon as things move forward. There is also lots of potential new work on the cards from other government dept,s coming up as was hinted in the recent house of lords and british standards institute report.Aero are well placed for growth now and have the management in place now to exploit these super opportunities. It has the DNA of a terrific turnaround growth stock and from current levels offer some serious upside IMVHO
Callit,i think what he / they were implying is that it has been knocked down already due to the beaufort factor and now offers opportunity.I personally am sceptical that they have any current influence here and I would of thought if beaufort been up to no good on any number of stocks there will be a lot of official eyes looking at current trading on anything they been involved with to winkle out evidence etc so if anything their activity should cease not increase. I think the companies who have them as their current broker or nomad though may have to act fast to replace them and there will be a lot of new broker business up for grabs. Maybe another sign that our new management are on the ball is the fact that replacing Beaufort with Peterhouse was one of the first things they did when they took over,so they should be applauded for that IMO.
Callit, the survey work that Geocurve do can be very lucrative on government projects and quite often you find once a provider of such services prove useful and cost effective to the client they tend to use them again and again and more so with government departments and Ngo,s.It is far more cost effective than putting men on the ground and in the instance of say surveying of bridges that carry road traffic the drones can be utilised without having to close roads or implement lane closures. This also applies to national rail and airport infrastructure or indeed a whole host of situations where a service can remain operational. They could for example win a fair size contract on HS2 rail or with The Highways Agency with fixed revenue over 3-5 years or maybe even DEFRA.So the potential is there for Srat Aero to become a major player in the Uk but also overseas in some regions where drone tech is in its infancy. They may even be useful for organisations such as the United Nations or World Health Organisation where access is difficult or restricted.Multiple opportunites here IMO. Also key here is the new management whom are able to put AERO,s expertise to a far wider and influential audience which in itself is a terrific asset to have.I may be tempted to add some more here shortly :-)
This company has two brokers which are peterhouse and sp angel NOT beaufort ! how many more times does this have to be stated. If you notice there were dozens of aim companies yesterday issueing statements about Beaufort but NOT here, the reason is because they are not our brokers! Strat Aero plc : Brokers and Advisors SP Angel Corporate Finance LLP Tel: +44 (0) 20 3470 0470 Nominated Adviser and Joint Broker Peterhouse Corporate Finance Tel: +44 (0) 20 7469 0930 Joint Broker
Hi Callit, the new management here have certainly hit the ground running and very quickly cleaned up the balance sheet and re-focussed the business into profitable new areas. It is also clear to see that Mr Brown believes he can turn AERO into a Uk market leader in this sector, and the recent house of lords and Bsi report hints that many more contracts are on offer across a wide area of government departments. The reports also make it clear that they envisage the Uav/Drone sector to be a major and key new uk industry with exponential growth. It seems to me that AERO are very well placed to benefit from this and have the well connected management now in place to land some lucrative contracts.I posted a news item from yesterday that is well worth a look. https://dronebelow.com/2018/03/02/new-drone-standards-will-spark-economic-revolution-uk/
Actually you need to check the Rns issued on the 5th December 2017,it clearly states that Peterhouse were appointed joint broker with immediate effect.Sp Angel is the Nomad and other joint broker. From 5th December 2017 Rns : Appointment of Joint Broker Peterhouse Corporate Finance Limited, New Liverpool House, 15-17 Eldon Street, London EC2M 7LA has been appointed joint broker to the Company with immediate effect. SP Angel Corporate Finance LLP remains the Company's nominated adviser and joint broker.
Cont:: All in all, Garbett sees great potential for drone industries globally, particularly for the UK, where the combination of our intellectual capital our technology, engineering, innovation, governance, and above all, our development and support of high standards is world class.
Cont : across these environments, the figures will take on an ever more exciting dimension, Garbett said. The new standards open up new possibilities for these industries as well as others. As Garbett explained, in transportation, use of drones for delivery on air, land and at sea would reduce the need for expensive infrastructure projects, easing traffic congestion, and reducing pollution in towns and cities. In addition, this transport revolution will allow workers to live further outside the cities, reducing the pressure on housing and spreading wealth to the regions. In this single area alone, the benefits that drones bring are compelling, he said. Along with the recent announcement by the UK Government statement that driverless cars will be introduced by 2021, this reality is gaining momentum and will have a widespread positive impact on each one of us.This is all well and good but there are still a lot of challenges to be overcome. Drone networks such as the 4G IoT network being developed by Vodafone in Europe, or the neural DroNet network being developed by researchers in Zurich, bring that reality much closer. EHANG, Volocopter and Passenger Drone are all creating autonomous air taxis that might make use of networks such as these. In the meantime, Garbett says, economic and safety arguments for the complete adoption of passenger-carrying drone vehicles on our roads are overpowering. Construction, infrastructure, agriculture and medicine are all set to benefit from increased use of drone technology due to the new standards. Reductions in costs across the board are expected, with planning of time and resources being made more efficient in farming and in the business of constructing roads and buildings. In medicine, more lives could be saved, by using drones to attend and scan scenes of collision, sending data to emergency services and then delivering medical supplies.Marine applications have also been considered. Although industries associated with marine environments have been using ROVs to review and repair pipelines and oil rigs for decades, Garbett says they are often neglected when calculating the growth of the drone market. The sector is incredibly well established and could benefit immensely, he says, adding, As the range of applications for drones in the marine environment expands into exploration, environmental monitoring and intervention, the value to the industry is rapidly increasing. This is definitely a sector to watch as technologies create opportunities for businesses and investors. The hope is that investors will support the new UK drone standards by funding research and development to enable the industry to break through the barriers such as BVLOS, and integrating drones safely into airspace. The adoption of systems that can move from air to land to sea and beyond (like this multi-environment UAV that can fly in the air and dive into wa
Full text : March 2, 2018 New Drone Standards Will Spark Economic Revolution in UK, Says BSI Chairman: Businesses and industries across the United Kingdom are waking to a new era in which drones could change the way they live and work. At an event held in the House of Lords recently, the British Standards Institution have set in place a future for the UK that realise the potential of UAVs in the air, in the sea, on land and in space. Founder and Chief Executive of the BSI Committee responsible for Drone Standards of the British Standards Institution (BSI) and Drone Major Group, Chairman Sir David Brown attended and spoke at the event, and explained how drones can benefit the UK economy. BSI is playing a pivotal role in supporting the exciting global future for drones through its work on standards for Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Standards accelerate innovation, boost productivity and enable trade, while promoting safety and consumer protection, he said. The event was sponsored by Field Marshal The Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank GCB, LVO, OBE, DL, and politicians including Aviation Minister Baroness Sugg, and other senior stakeholders in the drone industry, including manufacturers, users, service providers, economists, academics and media were also present. The new standards are the result of several years work and collaboration, and will be a turning point for the UK UAV industry. Robert Garbett, in his role as Chairman of the BSI Committee on Drone Standards, stated in a speech that, The development and adoption of the first quality and safety standards for the drone industry will make 2018 a pivotal year for an industry which is set to become a global phenomenon. It is the year when British and world standards will be crystallised, energising the industry, and enabling it to meet its full potential to the benefit of UK plc, and indeed economies worldwide. Drones, empowered by standards that can be trusted and relied upon are the key to many of our economic, transport, security, environmental and productivity challenges of today. They will open up new avenues to innovation that we can only begin to imagine! The drone industry is growing at a rapid rate. With nearly 4 million drone sold commercially in 2015, one report states that number is forecast to grow to 18 million by 2023. Industries as diverse as delivery, agriculture, medical, construction and marine are already developing and using drones in many capacities. Two years ago drones were forecast to spawn a $100 billion industry by 2020. But today the opportunities are perceived to be even greater than this since such projections were based upon available data at that time which predominantly focused on the air industry, and we define the entire drone industry as covering surface, underwater, air, and space.
