It's becoming very obvious that market makers are trying to push the price down so people can sell or trigger stop loss. They accumulate enough shares so the big players can buy cheaply but not in one go. Say some big player is trying to buy a million shares it will increase stock price very fast as you need to fill the order at each price point.

So 10k is filled at 3.00, next 10k filled at 3.01 and so until 1m shares are bought and will be at an average cost of 3.50. The big buyer wants to buy it at 3.00 on average not 3.50. So the market maker will try and push the price down via manipulation so people stop loss are triggered they get the shares and sell onto the big buyer. This will obviously carry on for some time until the big buyer bought it relatively cheap.

Funny thing is when they appointed the joint brokers this has become more obvious. Looks like the brokers got some big clients and selling them at a cheap price.

No wonder NOFEAR data shows each day more buyers than sellers but falling price. In normal circumstances more buyers mean increase in price.

If it goes down it'll be minimal so hopefully safe to buy now. I reckon some ladyluck will rub on Hbr on Friday when bp/shell results are out and move it back towards 4 quid. Bp/shell might give some guidance Outlook for the oil industry.

Harry I can see where you are coming from. First of all increased Capex, I'm sure what they confirmed last week was no change to capex from estimate earlier in the year. Also BP are struggling it has also lost 15% over the last 2 weeks - I think alot of the downside is sentiments accros the oil industry and not just hbr. We are doing OK today not great but very much in line with other oilers. Mm will be keeping it low for a while to shake off the weaklings before 23 Sept. Hopefully the accounts will be positive given the revenue should be high due to high oil and especially gas prices. Remember around 50% is hedged - there is lot revenue expected to be made.

On a serious note Linda Cook was given 600k shares but contingent that it outperforms certain other stocks and also the FTSE 100 from 1 Jan 21 to 31 Dec 23. I expect ftse 100 to reach over 8000 by then. So 20% increase and hbr shares were £4 then. So by 2023 she needs the share price to be 5 quid at least or she'll lose £3m. Do you really think in the long term she and other execs going to let that happen? DYOR.

Looking at technical analysis point of view (and I don't believe that TA provides any real benefits) the abosulte minimum this can go to is 245p that would be the absolute price support going forwards unless the company is truly in the brink of bankruptcy (which was the case with pmo and not hbr) then only then it will go down to those levels.

Thanks for some useful info. Quick few questions. Is the company accounting year 1 Jan 2021 and not 1 April 2021 when hbr was formed? So I guess the results are as at 30 June 2021 to be released on 23 Sept 2021. If so seems like a big gap to release results given bp/shell releasing 30 June results this week. Also does that mean if we were to ask questions will the board address those issues which we have on that day? Is it wise for us private investors get some questions ready for them to address?

It's freaky definitely. Very few trades happening today. Keeps on bouncing between - 1% and +2%. Also price seems to freeze for a good 10 mins a few times a day on HL, Google, and other platforms. I'd be happy if it gets to 6 quid. Anything above my average of 3.92 is good which should happen by end of next week. I'm hoping for some positive results from bp/shell next week that correlates to a good performance for other oil stocks.

Looking at after hours trade for Hbr, rdsb and BP, some heavy buying rallying up the share price seen. Hopefully a good start tomorrow morning min 2% open. GLA.
