If I had been a bit wiser first 3 trades would have been 800% return, ie on 100% return per trade 3 to 6, 6 to 12, and 12 to 24 or 8 times original £3k stake, unfortunately diverted some of the gains elsewhere so actually only turned it into £16k plus a few hundred extra on last trade but have finally wiped out my loss from HNR days so decided to call it a day here.

Being an oil investor for over 40 years and in several different companies in my experience the oil finally extracted exceeds the initial CPR especially as techniques with time improve. Granted this game is always a risk and you have to balance many factors, source, location, reserves, costs etc but I believe Heron will prove a good commercial find for MATD and don't forget PetroChina are extracting oil just across the border. GLA
At current oil prices recoverable oil underground now worth in excess of $1.4 Billion and rising, whilst they will have to raise finance and possibly enter a partnership deal personally don't see this as a problem once exploitation licence granted and consider MATD a reasonable risk already 90% up over last 3 months and can see this breaking above 4p again if oil prices continue to rise but a LTH anyway either way.

Rightly or wrongly ZOE has been my trading share since HNR days and have successfully been in and out 3 times so far targeting 100% gain each time, this will be my fourth time but need 16p Mr Nation anyway to reach 100% target. Each to his own and have 2 long term investment shares but prefer to trade ZOE on the ups and downs (quite a volatile share) but GLA.
As I thought looks like its going to be a bumpy ride, but think the longer term trend has turned probably UP so a longer term hold, but buying a few on the dips and selling a few on the rises.

Licence is just the key and whilst yes when granted likely to cause SP to rise, real work begins they will have to raise finance (which will probably include an equity element), possible farm in and bank loans, they then need to drill multiple wells, arrange distribution deals and last but not least keep government and locals happy not to mention continue with further exploration and hopefully more oil finds the 25p SP target needs to be earned. My average oil share investments have all exceeded 5 years and whilst made many multiples of original investment not all have been successful, trick is the be well over 50% successful. PS unlike Jay12 I consider 33 million barrels of recoverable or at todays oil price over $1.3 billion dollars a fair starting point but hopefully they will find more with exploring the Raptors.
Yes think likewise and an old hand at this made my first real gains with London And Scottish Marine Oil (LASMO), then with Premier Oil and more recently with Faroe Petroleum although got taken out early with a Buy Out but good profit. Had failure with HNR but recovered almost 90 percent of loss trading ZOE, personally looking for 25p plus here but no doubt a few years away and more exploration to come but huge potential IMO.
Oh you have spoilt it I was so much enjoying the death spiral, watching the share price rise month on month over the last 3, however did think 4p ish was about the limit prior to exploitation licence being granted. We really need to look back in a years time once oil has been flowing for a while and we are onto the next phase of exploration and the Raptors
In this for long term anyway.
With WTI looking like establishing itself around the $39-$40 level and with breakeven at around $20 level, Trinity will be highly cash generative and profitable going forward. Whilst this share has not been successful to LTH in the past, I believe the future offers real potential. Have only been invested here for a few months and purchased original stake at 5.7p I will certainly be adding more. As stated in my last post here believe the payment of a dividend probably next year will strengthen the investment case especially for institutional investors.

Competent Persons' Report (CPR) and reservoir stimulation studies
As part of the Reserves Reporting preparations, the Company commissioned Leap Energy to prepare a CPR for the northern part of Block XX where the Company's discoveries are located. The CPR concluded that the Heron structure has mean, unrisked in-place oil resource potential of 194 million barrels. This is 20% higher than the Company's initial internal assessment and offers the potential for substantial commercial value given the low-cost, onshore operating environment and the favourable Mongolian fiscal regime.
Fenix Consulting Delft, a specialist in reservoir stimulation, has modelled the Heron 1 well test data to assess the production and recovery potential of the Tsagaantsav oil sands found in the well. They concluded that modern stimulation techniques and reservoir pressure support through produced water re-injection can improve oil recovery significantly from the levels achieved to date in neighbouring blocks. Further enhancement by slanted or horizontal drilling to increase reservoir contact and radial drilling to enhance wellbore drainage are additional technologies under consideration to increase well productivity. These techniques have not been widely used in Mongolia to date.
Yes the ducks starting to line up IMO, timescale getting shorter and shorter and option recently exercised shows more positive evidence. Petrovis have significant shareholding here and no doubt behind the scenes are assisting with the financial planning on future requirements to move MATD into an oil producer once licence granted.
Will be adding more shares over the next few weeks as believe potential here great.
Well PATH directors believe DTU and Nitrogen assets worth the 15 million, lets hope we get a return when they re-list.
Yes board and management shareholding quoted at 22%, my main point was I believe Trinity likely to generate substantial cash this year that along with further growth requirements they could probably afford to start paying a dividend which I believe would strengthen the investment potential here even further. Either way have started to build up an investment stake here for the long term.
