Apologies should read ZERO %
ZERO %
Flattened of late - slight decrease <1% in Russia.

It’s very unusual that % changes are shown across the board consistently. I’m wondering whether a lack of meaningful data exists for Vanadium sales just now? Low product volumes? Reserves being accumulated - or just plain flat prices? Looking back to the run up to price peaks (particularly in November 2018) shows similar patterns.
Looks like another three “successful” bidders will be announced once further due diligence takes place - rather than the three being part of the eight Alfa.

Storage is definitely included in the tender announcement..........

“The winner will be a combination of gas, renewables and storage” .
I guess the real question we are all keen to hear answered is whether the storage system is vanadium based?
Read the World Bank’s Senior Power Engineer Frederic Verdol’s comments published in November 2020 here:
tinyurl.com/y54nkp2l
Verdol stated SA was “uniquely positioned to participate in the full battery-storage value chain comprising MINING; REFINING; MANUFACTURING/RECYCLING.”
Ask yourself where MINING comes into the equation......... Lithium is barely mined in South Africa but vanadium is.
Ask yourself where RECYCLING comes into the equation.........Lithium costs five times more to recycle than it does mine but the vanadium content of a VRFB can be recycled at the end of its 20-30 year life.
The recent SONA:
“Also discover new minerals (Vanadium?) especially those that are critical (VRFB /BESS?)for the economy of the future. Reliable & affordable energy supply is the lifeblood of mining and a catalyst for economic growth & development”
Hear Eskom’s Prince Moyo outline what worries him about BESS safety - a hint of the preferred option?

Positive RNS for IES today with trading update.
Interesting that they give a definition of ‘pipeline’:

I don’t wish to split hairs but the rmipppp has commonly been referred to as the “Eskom Tender” and whilst not strictly the case the underlying point remains.
