hi copper - did you not see that english heritage have put out an holding objection because egdon have not followed their guidance on archaeology investigation on pipe route? another unintelligible **** up by egdon and could push back dates for committee. but having dealt with this kind of stuff in the past, the level of work required could easily be completed in one or two months at most, by any number of reputable archaeological companies. if there is any sort of delay beyond this in completing the work then i would be highly suspicious of what egdon/heyco are up to.

Best thing is to trust no one who is trying to tell you to sell or buy - however they may try to wrap it up!

It would be the broker, not the company sounding out the market - if anyone was incompetent - although it’s hard to imagine that anyone approached in that way wouldn’t know they had market sensitive information - so probably would have little defence against such a charge.

The percentage of the PSC that UPL can retain in farm out discussions at this stage will affect all future valuations of the company - which is why it’s worth injecting the money on to the balance sheet now to maximise position in negotiations. Big difference between saying “we need your help to drill” and “we are drilling, so if you want part of it how much will you offer”.

I think the 30 day SP average is often used to set placing figures - so would need to work this out to establish scale of discount. Share was at 2.7 a month ago, so maybe it’s not that large a discount.

You’re right, if none of their ventures come off they will eventually run out of money. But that applies to any business. None of us can see round the corner - you were predicting disaster outs things for ujo just before the SP turned around unexpectedly.

I guess there are companies around that do something like that. But if eog changed to this, you would then need to hunt around for another high risk/high reward type company to replace it to keep the portfolio range.

Me too. Like the approach of the new CFO who seems to me to have steadily undone the mess left by the last one over the past year. Now on a more secure basis and seems to me to be taking a conservative approach, so more likely to surprise the market to the upside over the next year. Plus not many places where I can get this kind of dividend!

Exactly, Brezhnef. And if you are a high risk/high reward exploration company why would you change strategy to become something else when there are already other business with experience occupying that space. It makes no logical business sense.

Inter-company billing is very common. Never come across it being used in some devious way to reward executives - but if that is so, lucky that WH has made it very clear that this isn’t happening here.

Seems a good number that we are getting some of our money back from doing work on the licence - every penny counts.
