It will be enormously difficult for Cineworld to 'win' the appeal. Overturning a previous judge's view is uncommon.
IMO, best we can hope for is some mitigation in the award. That would have some limited positivity upon the SP.
However, if they then go for a further appeal, we'll be stuck in the current malaise for even longer.
We just need this action sorted, so we can move on.

Also IMO, Mooky has held back communicating with us, due to the court case.
News is likely to be promising/good...ish, and he doesn't want anything positive to cloud the attempt to get something from the appeal.

Just look at the SP effect of some paltry insider purchases announced yesterday.
For around £5K, the SP initially moved by around 18%!!
Struth, most of us have a far bigger share holding at a far bigger price.

If they do pull of some of the talk (yes, it is only talk), then this could rocket.

I hope that you are correct, however I don't think we will hear anything prior to AGM.
It is only an AGM after all, an annual event to clear necessary corporate matters.
I think the last 2 RNS's will be deemed sufficient to get the heat off their back.

Whilst, your view is reasonable in the short term.
This is all about cost, risk and return.
If they were to consider and/or execute a buy out, it would be because they believe or know the return would be greater than the cost.
Else, why would they even bother attempting to get hold of the additional 5% currently on the table.

Of course, Newcrest haven't actually yet agreed to purchase at $60m. Not officially anyway.
