As the expected JV announcement nears, we are going to see increasingly less subtle attempts to dissuade investors from putting their money here.

Why would anyone think that Anglo American would wand to defraud their JV partner on the cusp of announcing a return to Zambia? Why would anyone thing that Arc / Rothschild would stand by and let them get away with it!

All of our most prospective targets fall within the Handa license, which is not in dispute… how do Major Tom / Ella expect Anglo to get their hands on that one? Through a mutually agreed JV that’s how!

For the benefit of new investors, people who I don’t trust on this board include Ella10, PeggyCilla911, Travelcard, NorEsco. You are of course free to make up your own mind.

I’m sure Rothschild and Co. Have it all under control, after all, that’s what they are being paid for.

I use the VOX Markets app for RNS notifications. If I get a ping at 7am I wake up, if I don’t then I get some extra sleep!

Markhickox, what you tweeted was that all 13 of Anglo Americans active licenses (which are scattered all across the Copperbelt) would be part of the JV. I don’t think anyone else is expecting that to happen are they?

What Digger was saying was that any NEW licenses which are adjacent to Arcs current licenses would be part of the JV. If that’s true or not I have no idea, I don’t know where the info came from.

So, to be clear, are you saying that Nick told you ANY licenses adjacent to ours that either we or Anglo get will be included in the JV?

I’d assumed Digger was just joking, I guess most other people did too!

The status of the cadastre isn’t necessarily the same as the status of the applications, after all, our applications were submitted over 2 months ago (LEL’S) / 1 month ago (LML’s). As F79 says it’s impossible to say when the applications will be completed but if they don’t have everything in place in time for Indaba then it will have been a huge opportunity missed in my opinion. That’s what I think they are aiming for, otherwise why would Arc be attending and expecting to have a busy schedule?

I’m will you Nelson, I’m not looking to make a quick few quid and run, I am invested because I see the long term potential of this company (as well as the near term). If you can find a better place to put your money then go for it, but for me, as someone who started buying at 2p, this will deliver massive returns, and all I have to do is show some patience! As Warren Buffett has famously said, the key to successful investing is often to do nothing…. And that’s exactly what I intend to do here.

Tomrya you clearly haven’t read the terms of the JV. They have committed to spending the stated amounts or risk losing ownership… its not optional.

Anyway getting back to the new application by Anglo American. I don’t think this is necessarily a part of the JV, most likely they see potential here to extend the exploration area, after all, that license covers a key part of the Roan geology which is not covered by the Zaco license. Turn on the Cadastre geology overlay and you will see exactly why its important.

I’m trying not to get too excited about this, although it’s difficult! The fact that they are interested in this area which potentially fed into Cheyeza East, opens up some interesting possibilities about the wider Zaco area…. There’s the potential for this to be even bigger than we might have dreamed of. I can’t wait to see where they start drilling!

The Large Scale Mining license applications are in the name of our local companies, not Anglo American…. LML trumps LEL! If we had applied for LEL renewal for the Zaco it would have been standard practice to give up half of the license area on renewal. My thought is that they allowed Anglo to apply for the whole area to avoid losing half the licenses…. The LML’s being in the name of Zaco means we will have ownership (through the JV) for the next 25 years… win-win.

Do you honestly think Arc would just hand over their licenses to Anglo American after being in negotiations with them for 2 years? Get a grip!

And there’s the rub. I don’t trust you.

1. This is a multi-year project. Not all funding is needed up front.
2. You make no mention of the US$100m-US$150m per year earnings that can be generated from current operations… why is that exactly?
3. Leon has said they expect to generate early stage cash flow from the North to help finance the concentrators / upgrades.
4. There has already been made mention in the RNS of “metal backed funding” connected with the planned cobalt refinery.

Very observant of him I’m sure! Yes I’m convinced that bigger things are happening behind the scenes. The recent decision to pivot to buying a dedicated Cobalt reprocessing plant suggests to me this is part of a wider plan connected to that MoU. As far as I know there are 2 cobalt refineries as part of the Mopani operation, at Nkana, Kitwe, so one of those (currently mothballed) is likely what they are looking to purchase. This site is within 50km of Ndola where the new battery plant is planned to be constructed and obviously the site of our Roan concentrator. I’m hoping that they are in a position to reveal more details when the financial update is released!
