Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Good afternoon CawCaw,
I absolutely agree. I have serious concerns about other sectors of the global economy but, now, today, this could indeed be great for Atomic and others in a similar position. I am worried about increased and targeted taxation and tariffs, but perhaps I am worrying about nothing. Nothing I can do about it anyway. Que sera sera. That would be a good title for a song.
As I understand it Biden is planning to ban fracking. Have not read the detail, but have heard it is a serious objective. This, if it happens, will energise the greens Iike never before. They will go after everything climate related, buoyed by their success, and Biden will try to undo everything Trump did, on the basis that Trump did it, and that is reason enough. It could lead to serious undermining of confidence in several sectors. I never believed we would be in this position.
Good afternoon,
I am wondering if anyone can clarify something for me. How long does it take to categorise a trade as buy or sell , blue or red? Can they be left indefinitely?
There is a trade for 49,000,000 shares which was a late trade yesterday still showing as "unknown"
Thank you.
Good afternoon,
I would appreciate the thoughts of other holders regarding a headline I read earlier. It said COPL were using the CR to "advance" the acquisition of Atomic. It did not say "finalise" "complete" "conclude" or similar. Therefore, it seems we do not know how far we have actually advanced the acquisition, and how many more steps we will need to take. For steps read CRs. It has been stated, accurately, this is not and AIM share, but the sentiment on this board suggests that it how it is viewed. Am I choosing a single word and misinterpreting, or are we to expect more of the same??
Good afternoon Cheapskater,
I absolutely agree something positive and expected would be nice!! I thought anything which would be price sensitive couldn't be announced at the AGM, it would have to be via a new RNS. I am thinking anything positive and unexpected would be price sensitive. Always the optimist, so here's hoping.....................
Good morning,
I rarely post on boards. It can be lees than helpful, and doesn't always move things forward. I am also aware concerns are seen as de-ramping, which results in nasty and unnecessary reactions from other posters. However, I have a concern which I hope fellow holders can allay, or at least understand. The extension is the key to any kind of ROI here, as far as I am concerned. It was moved to the end of January and, as Shaa has said, this could move again. Can Art continue to kick the can down the road indefinitely? I have seen Covid blamed for lots of things, rather conveniently at times. However, we have the technology to connect globally at the click of a mouse. Am I seeing a problem that doesn't exist, or are we mugs? Helpful comments would be valued. Don't need nastiness. We all have our hard earned money in here!!
Good evening,
I will attempt to be rather more polite in my response. Should not be too difficult. I have been a LTH for several years. I am deeply disappointed by the situation. I am not claiming to have a level of expertise matching some other posters. However, there is a level after which you have to believe what what you read/are told, and the research takes second place. My anger is directed at Wall. I am not claiming to have any agenda, other than to vent frustration and ask questions which I think are worthy of being asked, even if not answered.
The second point was based on looking at a single reason to invest. Find an O and G company with billions and billions and billions and billions of shares in issue. It would probably be a good bet. Not always!!
Your remarks are vindictive and personal. Mine are borne out of frustration with massive under performance, continued disappointment and a lack of news. Nasty and unnecessary.
I read something on this board yesterday which seemed so strange I have waited until today to post. I wanted to be sure I had understood it correctly.
I believe the facts are as follow:
1) 88e is described as an exploration company. A bad one, but an exploration company nonetheless
2) 88e finds FO partners to fund their drills
3) Wall says the equivalent of: "gimme your money. I know where the oil is guv'nor, we're all going to be rich"
4) 88e, the exploration company mentioned earlier, does not pick the drill site!!!! This astonished me, it really did.
5) Next stop; duster
I cannot understand why the exploration company, with all the kit and the expertise, does not choose the drill site, and I cannot see why a FO partner would choose the drill site when they are working with the "experts" in exploration. On that basis 88e is a drilling company. Therefore, the exploration company is drilling in a place where they do not think oil is going to be found, having been told by the FO partner where they should/must drill. Keystone Cops go drilling, and I put my hard earned in to fund it!! Have I misunderstood??
I would very much like a rise. This is utterly stagnant. I always look at the price through my fingers, worried it could get even worse. I am dreading the thought of a CR, with Duster Dave rattling his collecting tin, yet again. Unhappily, the only way forward is through drilling, which costs money. His credibility, or lack thereof, must be off-putting to potential FO partners. He will also point the finger at you when it is a duster. People may be put off by that. We need money from somewhere. You have had as much of mine as you are having Wall. I can't give you any more. You have done it several times before, by telling the story about being in the oiliest place on earth and people will buy in. I know, I did!! I admit I am frustrated and embittered. Waiting for next week to hear the details of the new plan. I fear SSDD, I really do!!
Good morning,
I have read comments recently suggesting investors who did not like Wall should sell up. They should not stay if they are so unhappy with him and his performance. It is a well respected poster. I read and value his comments. However, two things are being conflated here, imo. As a LTH I believe in the viability and potential of 88e. Perhaps I am fooling myself, it would certainly not be the first time. I see the LTHs as supporters of a football team. They love their team, but do not believe the manager can get the best out of them. Change the manager and the potential the supporters believe is there in can be maximised.
Good afternoon Sobek,
And yet there are those who will not have a word said against the great man. One reason he will given is he will only really do well of the SP rockets. At the moment his shares are worth buttons, but he is still earning. Incidentally, his shares are worth buttons because of him and the BoD.
You are certainly not alone. I could have written that post. I am assuming there are hundreds of thousands of people in the same position. It is exactly how I feel. Not going to be a comfort I know. I cannot face clicking sell and turning a dreadful paper loss into a real one. I am hoping Wall will finally deliver.
Good afternoon Phrontist,
I am wondering what the rules are regarding disclosure of price sensitive information. Could it be withheld for a few days to "wrap" bad news in good news? The good news being something related to XCD. Who would police such a thing to decide when information was actually known? My cynicism related to 88e is based on several years as a LTH.
Good morning Sanny,
I am taking the opposite view. It is based on hope, perhaps forlorn hope given the performance of Wall and the BoD, that the news will be good. They are conducting more tests to confirm positive news. It could equally easily be they are waiting for the takeover to be finalised, and will announce two things together. In the world of politics they use news of national or global events as way to bury bad news. No attention will be paid to smaller news stories, so it is the perfect time to give them to the media. This may be the case here. Wall is a very shrewd operator. He is very adept at everything except finding oil.
