Hu11 yeah - these boards are frustrating as all hell sometimes.
As you said - why does the FO HAVE to come by the time of the AGM? Do people not know what an AGM is or something?
Logic like this is half the reason people lose so much money on the stock market. Arbitrary rules and expectations pulled from nowhere that lead to disappointment, as if 50% of investing isn't simply patience as Brombard suggested
I don't understand when why we're relatively low, and news of a FO is expected, and we still have the keys to the land with a resource into the billions of barrels that have value regardless of speed of recovery people are just deciding it's bad news because we haven't been notified by the time of an AGM - a yearly legal requirement of the company. Literally nothing has to happen at the AGM. It's people's perogative and fair enough but it seems like we've shifted to it's either THIS farmout or we're bust.
I don't get it!
I don't think it's quite as doom and gloom as you're making it out.
Sure things have progressed slowly, slower than most would like (isn't that always the case?) but i wouldn't say we're out of options by a long shot.
Until a year ago we had Basinksi working his magic and people seemed much more patient. His terrible loss seemed to change up people's expectations and i'm not sure why. He might be gone but they're still working with his data and vision and no one was questioning that we were doing the right things in the right places when he was alive. All of a sudden it seems like everything in the past is on DW and i'm not sure that's accurate, he was working and making decisions with a literal titan of the industry.
As a LTH i'm not majorly concerned with where we're at. I expect we'll see a FO soon
Hi all, i'm a holdover from the AFPO days - was interested to see that we're now relisted but i guess CC ditched blockchain. So what are we are doing now? What are your collective feelings on the future of us as BLCC? I can check out RNSs but doesn't neccessarily paint the full picture
despite the sham that AFPO was, i was never completely convinced it was all CC's fault that things went so far south. I've always understood he's trying to penetrate a very difficult marketplace
Is there a chance i might not have to continue sitting on a 98% loss here?!
Being in a share for this long and it finally, dare, i say it, feel like a major rerate is pretty much locked in. Not if, but when. The attitude on this board, women's hour chit chat aside, is generally the most comfortable i've seen on a board in memory.
I feel like we're invested in one of the best shares on the market and no-one seems to know about it. Which is an amazing situation to be in. i just wish i had cash available to buy more...hoping a couple of other shares flourish before this does so i can move some money about!
i would imagine, given the completely (as always) disproportionate amount of hate he gets on twitter, AbMan probably has changed his username. i seem to remember it seeming like he actually had more than username anyway as it happens, there was a little incident where he posted as AB, then the person that replied to his post also signed off as Aberdeen man :-O. Not solid evidence in itself but a little odd.
Anyway yeah, people seem to still get off on blaming him for their misfortunes instead of accepting that investing is 100% their own responsibility, so i can see why he wouldn't be bringing that name around
In his massive defense also, HE is not responsible for the cluster**** of misleading info that came out of cloudtag. i invested a lot, he, it could be argued was a bit rampy - but then around that time nearly EVERYONE was, he just gets singled out more because people actually put more weight in what he said due to his presence. Doesn't make it the guy's responsibility though, he also seems way more active in his investments than your average message board lurker.
Few things make me happier at the moment than reading interviews with ex-pats who voted out. The sudden realisation that it might prevent the way of life they've come to love - they didn't entertain for apparently one minute the concept that without the right to roam they might have a problem. It's seems the perfect screenshot of the mental effort put in by many about which way to vote.
It's karma in action and i love it.
Given the protracted way leaving will play out people over 60 who voted leave will probably never even suffer the effects but misguidedly claim they've 'liberated' the UK or something whilst nothing actually happens. They managed to ride the property waves and make bank and now couldn't give two sh*ts for the financial situation younger generations find themselves in - little growth, expensive housing and increased living expenses just to have a 'normal' existence. It's getting beyond financially unbalanced, it's not sustainable, and it'll just damage the country in the long term.
None of this is the EU's fault. The UK will voluntarily shed what little influence it retains by f*cking over anyone who didn't have the forethought to have been born in the 50s/60s or into wealth and people will still continue to blame the EU long after.
The UK has, on entirely its own terms, just decided to lose. What do we legitimately have to offer the rest of world that gives us leverage over anything?
I still can't get my head round it. It seems to be fuelled by little more than bluster and arrogance and 'spirit of the blitz' at this point. We're not at the forefront of anything!
and a new username comes along on lse to educate us on how it's not great news I mean none of is could have seen this coming
all these super altruistic doomsayers only really post when a climb is expected isn't it? In this instance, the SP is actually already lower than it has been on average for the last few months.... It's almost like they have an agenda :P........
agree with you both generally, was really posing a question i guess - which as you said Tidd is perhaps because we've been kept in the dark so long. Shall we do a kickstarter for a bulb? ha
Maybe it has - maybe it hasn't...maybe the best will in world results in contributing the problem - what do you do then?
genuine question, can i ask why we've got a running theme that CC has been extorting PI's cash to spend jets and posh frocks? Not really seen any evidence of this, and assume the shit show we're currently part of exists because of lack of business acumen in what's emerging to be a market that just doesn't work in any way shape or form. I'm not sure what this view gains us except possibly misplaced anger, which lets be honest, won't make us a penny His bullshit/lack of communication aside, if he's not been getting us paid i'm not sure someone else would have done a better job. I have enough in here to be bothered by it tanking and i'm hoping something gets pulled out of the bag, and i'm hoping for a new CEO purely for the knee jerk rise it often brings so i can get something back, not because i thin they would improve anything long term. Am i convinced it's SOLELY on CC's head? I'm not sure i am. They said things take longer in Africa and that appears to be correct - it's hard to say 'ok, i've decided this is too much longer now'. But can they keep the lights on whilst we wait? The problem AFPO is trying to fix isn't going to go away. Just a thought.
