Yes, I believe you fall firmly into the category of users I was aiming that at; abrasive disrupters with an ill-founded superiority complex and main character syndrome
Actually contributing positively to something doesn’t register, does it?
all the unproductive, mean-spirited bull**** could end here and a truce could be called.
there's no winners or losers present, just a bunch of people who got mislead and locked-in and a bunch of people who for whatever reason like to follow things they're not interested in. just as people like to argue in hindsight it was obviously a scam it or whatever people could argue just as strongly that those with incredible hindsight powers wouldn't waste their days on a message board for no reason. if anyone wants to pretend they wouldn't keep an eye out on the promise of a return, they're welcome to, but it's not fooling anyone. the world is c***y enough at this point and i don't get why this place has become such a powerful encapsulation of all this. if you're just here to laugh at other's misfortune, then you definitely aren't winning anything.
it's got beyond tedious at this point and would be magical to follow coherent conversations without a sea of green islands until we have some form of conclusion
No, nor should anyone, they’re a web design agency, not a representative for Amit or CTAG. They’re not gonna just start discussing a client relationship with a random on the phone.
Seriously, I know we want answers, but it would be out of order.
If they still haven’t been paid for a site that could be built in a day 10 years ago they’ve only got themselves to blame
Saying the site would cost a 5 figure sum (robbery) but that £300 a year on low end hosting plus SSL etc should include platform updates and sometime’s time to action, test and make changes, the whole reason you don’t just update wordpress willy nilly are entirely contradictory.
‘website is using wordpress v6.0.1 which was released in july 2022 so the agency isn't doing a great job of keeing it updated’
Hard to put into words how incorrect this statement is. That’s not how it works.
Not to mention that Amit, a lawyer, would successfully sue him into oblivion for it, bankrupting him, his agency and his reputation.
The only way you could acrue owing anyone significant amounts on that website for the last few years would be if they were robbing you to be frank. It’s operating costs should be at worst < £300 per year
The wood is maybe bring missed for the trees here by the way. The fact the site’s platform was updated less than two years ago could suggest that’s because it was continuing to be paid for…
i’ve hit a point where everytime i check in on this place i feel like i’m in a ****ty cafe full of jaded ex taxi drivers on the costa del sol where no one actually likes anyone else. just people relentlessly being mean-spirited whilst expecting respect and not getting any because they never really excelled at anything so can’t offer any reason to gain any. 1000s of posts and not one single thing of value. we literally know nothing more concrete than 8 years ago
they should charge to post on a sliding scale upwards
"It won't be even be Amit. Someone's got the login to the website and is posting these updates as a joke. The fact people are believing it says a lot about the general IQ level of the UK"
I'll be honest, the idea that someone's erroneously posting 20+ times to a website without any intervention whatsoever doesn't speak fantastically to IQ either
It's like the brewery didn't even get built in the first place and no one discovered it until the minibus pulled up
Because clown show doesn't even start to cover the embarrassment that is this man dealing with these alleged transactions. It's actually surpassed frustrating and careered just head on into being outright tragic. He shouldn't be anywhere near any business
But my does it make this place truly insufferable ha, it's tragic
You would redirect, not just switch off
Easiest way to do that though would be just to switch the front end off, which is easy to do and wouldn't affect the WHOIS. It would be weird to do it in a way that did affect the WHOIS, far more technical effort than is needed for the same outcome especially given the WHOIS is all redacted anyway
Moving host/nameservers triggers it yeah. traffic/ddos not impossible in an indirect way but unlikely in this situation. The DNS stuff yeah as it plays in the name servers/IP thing. Server/DB connection etc almost definatley not
Something's definitely happening...
It's definitely interesting, something has to have triggered it, but the domain seems to be still resolving to the same IP. It's offline again now. This intermittent stuff CAN happen when moving from host to host. Can cause it other ways obviously but if it's not a DDOS then it would basically have to be someone sitting f*cking with the site's DNS/Server/connection config for some reason
Seems to be back online now, no changes though
You're both getting served cached versions by your browser or ISP, the site is 100% down
Looks to me like they're repointing the URL to a new host
These updates have been going on for two years. For that to be a prank would require not a single person having asked ABH about it at any point or for him to known about and have decided there absolutely no benefit to him that the company he’s CEO of is publicly making fraudulent claims.
It’s ludicrous
Feels pretty unlikely that someone has hacked and has been updating the website for two years without intervention
Another one for the green gang!
