Thanks for correcting me. Yes, that's right but what I actually meant to say was that the ftse100 keeps making fresh gains. But it doesn't matter much really because RSA is only just one of the smallest holdings in my porfilio, the others are doing a lot better apart from RRL. That's another bad buy and my only AIM shares.
I know this is a long term invesment, but may be a bit too long and the SP is even lower than where it was in 2008! 5% lower after 5 years while the ftse100 is at all time high, you can't really blame me for my patience is wearing a bit thin!
Yes, but they have cut the divi now, so a large part of that attraction has been taken away. It might take longer than before to push the SP back to the 130's now.
So, you already have your plan worked out, good luck to you then. But one thing I don't want, which is seeing this going down 200 / 300, lol ! No.no.no.. let it not happen, please God!
really a snail share, apart from when the day it annouced the divi cut, which the SP was sliding down at a lightning speed and still not recovered! Evertime when the market was 50/ 60 points up, it either went up 0.1 / 0.2, or unmoved or even down! This is really terrible, ugh!
Yes, the divi is 26.7p. It would be a big drop when it go ex-div and normally they always drop more than the divis. So, someone may be able to pick this one up at under 800 very soon.
Looks like that people are banking their profits. Although the results were as good as it can get, the drop is bigger than the final divi. May be it is time to top up. Or should I wait until the dust is settled? Decision, decision....
Good for you, are you sure to bail at 800? Why not wait until 850? I think 800 is now within easy reach and so is 850 (assumed that there will be no hiccups from the Euro Zone!).
I am in AV too. That one is a real pain in the A*ss!
I too had some too when it was first privatized but I did not hold for this long. I couldn't remember when did I sell them and for how much? But one thing I am sure was that I did make a little profit too.
Well, actually you deserve for your patience and your faith in the company. Trust you must have enjoyed your holiday very much. Good on you!
Thanks for the info, how I wish I had bought into this share at that time! But sadly, my entery was sky high at 692.5p just over a month or two ago and with a measly 8% paper profit at the mo, which would easily be wiped off in any slight nastiness of the market.
