SD235- On a week long ban
I thought it was a nice board, then I realised why. The filters detected his bad behaviour, was looked at by moderation, and the unsavoury one gets some quality time out!!"
Am I? news to me.
You still here Mr troll. You really won't succeed in your poisonous rant on how useless legal and general are. Move on and bore some other forum. Although it appears other than one other forum this is your main troll forum since you joined.
That's should read the £5,000 starter savings tax allowance. So if you have an taxable income equal to £12,570 you have a full £5,000 of tax allowance on anything which is paid as interest. Anything over reduces equal to the amount in excess.
To nill if you have £17,570 of taxable income.
P2P
Investment trusts
Bonds
Savings accounts
OEICs (no idea how they could pay dividends as streamed interest)
Unlikely the chancellor can be bothered with cancelling it. Not enough people taking advantage of it.
Also reduces taxes on investment trusts.

"Likewise use Freetrade for dipping in and out of shares but use HL for long term hold and dividends.
Recently discovered Freetrade don't facilitate RI rights issues so had to exit TUI shares and go via HL to enable RI.
As you say times are very volatile"
Same but mainly because freetrade don't have all the shares I want.
Built up a portfolio of shares that pay dividends as streamed interest. Part or all there dividends.
Covered by £5,000 starter tax allowance.
Biopharma credit 100% of dividends
Riverstone credit opportunities 75%
TENT 58%
VSL (vpc) 100% (bought in freetrade) probably going into wind down.
The market is ignoring that there dividends are tied to interest rates. Some like VSL are capturing the increase in interest rates immediately. They charge floating rates. 10.5% December 2021 now 13.8%. a 30% increase in income.
Riverstone has increased dividends from 7 cents to 8 cents and thrown in a 1cent special.
Some international personal finance bonds 12% 2027.
The company (if)is doing very well.
All the above won't be taxable (the bits which are interest). Hargreaves also doesn't charge FX fees on buying as they are on the UK market. Tried buying on trading 212 but we're charging unwarranted FX fees. Hargreaves said they would try to get the dividends in £. So no fees as the companies converts.
The benefit of using a real stock brocker not neo one!

I remember the bloke who writes the investment trusts handbook saying use to put all his money in his ISA in April but found it was better to wait till the summer. I did something similar last year BUT if I sold in my general account during next financial year the capital gains tax allowance is only £6,000. So I have sell now. When I put the money in is a different matter.
On the other hand this ain't a normal market, I will put the money in and buy bit by bit
I have an account with freetrade
Basically free to buy and sell but by with a standing charge.
Minimal. It basically means you could buy a few more if you have fixed amount of money. Would appreciate it myself.
Said this in October "Holding up well in particular poor market" even more so now.
Sold a 1,000 last month bought back 500 in isa. Oh I do wish I had bought all 1,000 back.
I think people tend to forget legal and general has a 1.5 beta.
So buying now and waiting for the "financial landscape to improve" will undoubtedly benefit shareholders. I am on at 166 in my ISA. But had a stop loss trigger in my sipp and bough more. Will continue tomorrow.

" Luckily about half my £14000 paper loss sits outside my ISA, so with the changes in CGT, I may make use of this (at some point) "
Good point would it be better to sell now
Also do you have to wait 30 days to buy back?
Like bed and breakfasting?
I think I will add to Biopharma or riverstone credit opportunities.
"not a troll. I've been invested here a few years and have slowly added. It used to be a much better investment, I won't "
If you think the the company is that bad yet you add to your investment, it suggest you are an idiot or a lieing troll. I will go with.... either!
