Forget the sp percentage rise for a second - look at the total value of the business being taken on - assets and liabilities. This is in excess of 500 million, so paying 50 million more for the equity premium to secure the deal is not so big a leap. If the sp had moved to 20p from 11p on the announcement of the company putting itself up for sale and was still there now then people would be saying 30p or 40p and accepting it. Just because it fell back people feel that 15p is such a big leap when it has been over 40p for a good while and the difference in the overall deal from the 2 sp figures isn't as big as you think. We will know soon enough anyway I guess and hopefully other suitors come out quickly - Stobart was a big riser today I see.
