Morses Club PLC ("Morses Club"), an established provider of non-standard financial services, is pleased to announce that Paul Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Morses Club, has been appointed as a Board Director of the Consumer Credit Trade Association ("CCTA" or the "Association"). The same story of a persistent seller (could be two sellers here at CAPD) at THS (Tharisa - PGM metals) as well.
From a business owner standpoint, business is flying and I am glad to be a "part-owner".
From SP standpoint, a divergence to the actual business performance + positive outlook.

Contingency claims companies were going rampant with PFG assisting complainants to seek recovery from PFG. Presumably their claims from accidents and other avenues may have declined during lockdown, hence the escalation of such activities with PFG on high interest loans.

Does it affect MCL? Not known. Has there been complaints vs MCL? Not known. Has MCL customers used financial ombudsman service in regards of MCL. As PIs, we do not know at this stage. At this current stage, it is also very possible that MCL is simply an innocent bystander in PFG's case and could emerge from this in a stronger market position. Overall, as PIs dyor.

So my back of the fag packet caln - 7 - 8% of the company were bought today.
Hopefully - this should help clearing much of the overhang.

I would not imagine a person of Baroness Finn’s stature would have agreed to be a NED and continue in the role for nearing 2 yrs for MCL unless she had done proper DD on the company, policies and practices. Thus, I am re-assured that MCL have professional processes in place for debt recovery, complaints and affordability checks.

Baroness Simone Finn has been appointed to the Board as an independent non-executive director and Chair of the Audit and Risk & Compliance Committees with effect from 5 May 2019.
Baroness Finn is a member of the UK House of Lords. She is a former government adviser on industrial relations, efficiency and Civil Service reform. She advises international governments in these fields, amongst others, through the consultancy business of which she is managing director. Baroness Finn also has a deep grounding in regulatory compliance and corporate governance excellence. She is a chartered accountant by profession and is experienced in audit practice through her previous roles and her membership of the Audit Committee of Arbuthnot Latham. She previously worked at the Financial Services Authority, the predecessor of the FCA.

Note per RNS Feb 2021, Baroness Finn will be stepping down from her position as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect to take up a new position within Government as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister.

SP jump probably due to
1. Recent interview on ************* - very encouraging
2. End of lockdown - focus will be UK-centric given overseas + travel still got big covid issues. Opening Up stocks such as - SAGE, SHOE, TED, REDD all shot up in recent weeks from Feb but ESC hasn't.
3. Pent Up demand is going to go ape - I reckon - Imagine the kids / adults / office workers who have spent a long time separated from each other.
4. Way to play value + growth stock - here is both
5. Recent shakes from IG + treasury yields stopped buying given uncertainty. Now, that we know that the market is not likely to tank anytime soon, the question is - when is it the best time to buy - it definitely is not in 2-3 months time .

MCL's SP being pulled down because of PFG. Got nothing to do with MCL.
If you take a look at the reviews of PFG on trustpilot - terrible. The warning signs were there. In contrast, Morse's are excellent. Great opp. to buy. Don't forget Graeme Smith, the CFO bought more shares at 65.77p.
If the CFO, who are renown to be frugal being bean counters are willing to buy, this pretty much gives a hug thumbs up for MCL.
Recent "exceed expectations" TU is most encouraging.
