I didn't sell at a loss. Nor am I "bitter". I don't want others to lose. That is why I am suggesting they consider selling. You say it is a highly advanced research company. Saying "highly advanced research company" without supporting evidence is gust sloganeering. You say that it has "more in the pipeline than just one test ". So what? The stock has only gone up so much because of the hype surrounding the latest virus. You also tell me to "move on". I will decide, thank you.
Shows that the virus is coming under control. Once it does, expect NOVACYT to crash.
AngryAnt I guess you have reverted to Mr Hyde.
Angry You are being nice - better than calling those who have a different opinion to you - trolls. I did sell at 1.45. I think the concept of selling testing kits is a good one.
Hi. France seems to be steady (no change in price). I thought it might correct. I also think £1.50 is high, as many bought in around £0.60. Obviously epidemics like this one mean that corporates coming up with solutions to the problem can obviously make money. I just can't see what NOVACYT is doing. Obviously there are other testing kits out there. Some guy here in the scientific community mentioned that you need the testing kits plus around £100,000+ worth of other scientific backup equipment.
TallPaulNY I know. I got on this chat in order to find out things about NOVACYT. I have learned practically nothing, although one poster called AngryAnt has called me a troll and a "De-Ramper" (whatever that is). I still have no idea what NOVACYT does or what its client base is. It claims to be a "testing kit" for all sorts of viruses, including SARS. As for the price, some say it will go up by some crazy amount - like even double. There is no reason given for why this might happen. Others say it can go down. In my experience, more small stocks go down than up. If you suggest this, you are called out by the site policeman, AngryAnt. As you say, it is a waste of time, unless someone informative can educate those like me, who need more relevant ideas.
Sell on "no news". There is a saying in German: "Stocks go up like escalators and down like lifts".
Filter the news you don't want to hear... It is like sticking your head in the sand, my friend.
I am not an expert, but know enough that people are self testing. Posters trying to hype the stock (the £3 types) have said the test kit once approved by the FDA will be available to the public to buy. Those saying buy buy buy call other more cautious people trolls and worse. Stock can go down as well as up. Many other folk also buy stock in order to make money.
dusterinmong You are correct. The stock has nearly tripled over the last week - from around 50p to £1.50. In my experience, the stock is likely to drop. If you believe in it, buy around 80p.
Latino. It is a person's opinion. It make more sense than the usually predictions of £3. £3 is double the present price. That would mean the FTSE would be 14,000, double what it is now. These are stocks, not roulette tokens.
It is dangerous to suggest that people buy testing kits and test themselves. Better to go to a clinic and have it done by an expert.
I don't like this whole idea of untrained people buying testing kits from Drug Stores anyway. The authorities will probably stop it anyway.
What is not impartial about me? I am trying to find out information about NOVACYT, which is lacking. It seems when people are asking questions, those people are "filtered". I did buy, but have now sold up. I think the stock will go down, once the hype about the virus subsides. In Germany, there is hype about Bayern Munich winning - but I doubt the English know what I am talking about.
I would like to know: how successful are their tests and who they are selling to. It is not good enough tie know they are in a trendy news making market. Note they (NOVACYT) did go up a lot in the SARS scare, but lost 99% of the value after that. Is it all hot air and bull****? Does the test actually work, and is it foolproof. Remember that one mistake would be curtains for the stock.
mornington-oz What are you saying? Surely it is the opposite. What if you self test and it is positive. What happens then? do you just keep quiet? At least at a clinic, they can help you. Really. I don't like secretive people like you.
Your 5K bet? I will decline. I only bet on what I think is safe. You are correct of course. It could go up. But it could go down. Bottom line. Any stock with this sort of swing, up 40%, down 25% etc. is too wild for me. It usually ends in tears. The best approach is to benefit from the panic, but get out before it subsides. The stock seems to be swinging between 1 and 1.50. So I would buy at 1 and sell at 1.50. Don't be greedy, with these folk saying it will go to 3 or more! It might do, but it is more likely to halve at 0.75. Remember: Buy on panic (fear) , sell on expectation (of good news).
OK. Lets face it. If I am sick, and suspect Coronavirus, I will go to a clinic. I will not self test. That is the way people think in Germany anyway.
It is clear to me. The FDA has completed its review.
onlyprofit £3? That's DOUBLE what it is at the moment! You sound greedy. Very greedy. There is a saying in Germany. Bulls make money. Bears make money. Hogs don't. Me? I got out at £1.45. Another German rule: Sell if you make a 50% profit. Sell if you make a 20% loss.
I'd be happy if it got to £1.45. Hogs who want £3 are just unrealistic - and greedy.
