Poods - No, my point was very simple. This current market would not be able to absorb such a line of stock now or at any time in the foreseeable. It would be far easier to sell such a bloc through an off-market deal rather than feeding such a line of stock into the LSE-TSX platform using a market maker...If of course we got some stonking news then getting rid of such a bloc would be much easier as the demand would rise somewhat

There's simply not the liquidity to absorb 40-60m shares of FOG stock. If the trustee's objective is to achieve top dollar for the stock he needs to sell he's hardly going to achieve that by trying to sell that line of stock into a market that is at times crushingly lacking in liquidity. I'm not sure of the mechanics of such a sale of shares. It's an unusual asset to sell. It's hardly a physical item like a building or car etc.

So when the stock certificate is delivered to the trustee (Jeffrey Hill , lawyer) it can be sold to the highest bidder in an off-market auction of some form?

Sweetpea declared around 61.7m shares in Dec-2018. Considering FOG own a 30% interest in some of the most prospective shale assets anywhere in the world then those shares are very valuable. Someone would surely love to their grubby paws on them at a knockdown price. There's no doubt in my mind that at some point FOG will be taken over and the value of Sweetpea's 62m shares or whoever takes ownership of them will profit considerably from such a transaction. So who will take ownership of them?

I find it confusing as I'm not very bright but I am intrigued by certain aspects of the case.

Reference to a stalking horse bid of around 38p ($0.50)/share to prevent a low ball bid. I have no idea how this is enacted through the courts but someone will gain ownership of 40-50m shares at 38p and no doubt will be able to sell them at a higher price at some point in the future

Who will buy these 50m shares? How will they buy them? There's not that volume of stock available in the open market at that price. Surely someone wanting a decent stake in FOG is desperately gonna want to get their hands on them

If those shares are sold at 38p through a court sanctioned process why are our shares only worth 18p?

I'm not making sense as I have the cognitive capacity of a hamster but it seems to me that such a large line of stock as this is surely going to be in demand from many interested parties. We have 30% of something very special at Beetaloo and to buy 50m shares at 38p would cost just under $20m or less if the figure is 40m or so shares.
