Why is Biswas expressing such public confidence in the capacity of Havieron to transform the commercial nature of Telfer? He wouldn't say that in formal company communications if he didn't believe it to be true (caveats aside of course). It just seems a little speculative and gung-ho but not if it's an accurate statement based on what Biswas knows

Biswas has just made a public reference to Havieron in Newcrest new release. Do you think a top mining executive would do that if didn't believe Havieron had the material capacity to deliver? He's not a muppet, he's the CEO of Newcrest and an astute businessman. He's not gonna make himself look like a t-t by something that he knows could come back and bite him on the posterior

I reckon even now Biswas is confident about what Havieron contains. I suspect he knows more than we do that's for sure

And if he's confident Havieron can secure Telfer then at what stage will Newcrest get the cheque book out?

Yes, I think that does need clearing up. To have a list of guaranteed Fovio contracts both OEM and Tier 1 would help and then a list of open RFQ's. Yes, I appreciate commercial confidentiality but then maybe a list with redaction for those customers who are camera shy

Yes, it is subject to further drilling and study. That's exploration but his reference to 'considerably improving profitability' does infer high grade ore rather than low grade ore at present from Telfer to processing.

Why would Biswas in today's statement about inclusion in the ASX Top 20 make another direct and specific reference to the importance of Havieron to Telfer. Not only that. he uses the term 'considerably'. Biswas thinks they found something of considerable and material importance to Telfer.

Newcrest entered the ASX Top 20 as announced by S&P Dow Jones Indices on Friday
13 December 2019, taking effect from the open of trading on December 23, 2019.

As reported in the Full Year Results 2019 Newcrest achieved a record low annual AISC of $738 per oz, Free Cash Flow increased 34% to $804m, produced 2.49 million ounces of gold, and reduced net debt by 62%.
Newcrest continued to invest in growth during the Full Year 2019 reporting period, gaining exposure to another operating asset, the Red Chris mine in Canada with plans to improve the current operating performance and, subject to drilling and further study, transform Red Chris into a Tier One operation by means of block caving.
A strong exploration programme continues to deliver promising opportunities including access to a prospect in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia (Havieron deposit) which, subject to drilling and further study, could considerably improve the profitability and extend the life of Newcrest’s nearby Telfer Mine.'

We're chasing our tails here. In the greater scheme of things 20k installations is a drop in the proverbial ocean though this should change when new laws kick in but that's a year or so away. It would be interesting if some of the large truck and van makers start installing DMS during the production phase of new vehicles

Maybe he means It's higher grade than the ore they are processing at present which Biswas finds 'exciting' (his word not mine). It's all in the margin. Higher grade, ceteris paribus, equals superior margins

I'm intrigued by the raising of expectations by Biswas with regards to Havieron. Not only has Biswas raised these expectations but he's raised them explicitly and publicly. It's almost as if he's officially declared that the long term future of the Telfer processing facility is reliant on the development of the Havieron discovery

Enough from me. I've traded in and out of here for months and made a small profit but I'm sticking with my holding now as it feels we could be on the cusp of developments as we enter 2020

We can do nothing other than wait for SEE to update the market as to the progress of the RFQ process. We can post all the articles we like but it makes little difference.

Going forward, we may see the wider equity market embrace a tad more risk now Marxist Labour's been put back in its box so that should help loss-making AIM companies that show superb promise ie SEE. An increased flow of institutional risk capital into SEE stock would be most welcome to reflect the reduction in political risk since last week. Don't underestimate the wholesale damage a Marxist PM would have done to the stock-market. Dodged a bullet there thank god. The innate common sense and moral decency of the British people has saved us all a lot of money

I wonder what Biswas means by this statement? He uses the term 'exciting' which may suggest they have found something very different or substantial. And the term 'structurally different' which incites his excitable state
