D1977 - The first rule of equity (shares) investing is quite simple and easy to understand -

'YOU WILL LOSE MONEY'. Once you have fully embraced this simple fact then you can start your rocky journey towards achieving some degree of financial security

Embrace price volatility as this impacts the daily value of your stock holdings, that can at times fluctuating wildly. This volatility can screw with your head and force you to make decisions that are destructive to your capital base

Therefore fundamental research is vital. Timing is vital (no matter what Buffet says).

Buying shares in the right companies is vital. Don't buy crap companies with crap balance sheets (indebted. the more debt a company has the less the equity will be worth)

Buy companies with a future of expansion. I never buy stocks for a dividend, I
buy stocks for capital growth and stocks with a well defined future.

Wider market sentiment is important
Sectoral sentiment is important too. You wouldn't for example buy gold stocks when the gold price is being hammered but you would wait and try and predict the reversal of the gold price before buying shares in gold companies

Waiting and watching can be a good education. Simply watching share prices
move can be instructive and watching how they respond at certain levels on the technical chart

Take a look at POG for example. The price sat at 10p for months and then started its ascent..that was a massive buy signal...I didn't buy as I was in other stocks but that's an example

GGP. I believe large buys above 5.5p will herald a break upwards...any buys at 6p and above will I believe trigger more buying into GGP

and buy a simple book on the stockmarket - The Naked Trader book is a decent intro

Without definitive, documentary proof (contract note) it's almost impossible to determine the nature of large, delayed transaction. I've been trading for many a year and even now the debate rages on about the nature of a large, delayed trade

I know one thing, the price is struggling to break above the current resistance point. Why that is, we can only speculate. We can talk about this until the proverbial cows staggered through the front door , up the stairs and climb into bed. It's a debate that always ends with the same conclusion, no conclusion at all

What is encouraging is that there's still significant interest here and that's always encouraging when (and I do believe it's a matter of when not if) the price does break upwards

I do still think there's a seller (eg.warrant sellers) here though they're now selling above 5p now and that's optimistic...imho

I'd say It's unusual for the LSE to agree to cancel an executed trade. Those are the rules. I think the term is an 'erroneous trade'. As ever with trying to pin down what is and what isn't a buy-sell, it can become a Sisyphean task, pointless

I think the deal he's pulled off is superb for FOG. Yes, it's cost FOG another 7.5% but it confirms Origin's faith in the assets at Beetaloo

I had to sell mine here and did so with a heavy heart. I'm not wealthy so had no choice but I have added a few back this week. Once the excitement starts to build again, which it will, I'll have a lot more to come back in here over the next 6 months or so

As an aside, it's pleasing to see the price holding above 5p. I like that. I think after the BH's are over the excitement will build towards end-April for the Newcrest announcement...fingers crossed we see more terms like 'high grade' and 'open at depth' etc etc

J813 - You're assuming the print was worked today, it may have been worked from yesterday and then printed on a delayed basis. 5M is above the NMS of 300k so the market can delay the print but If it's a buy then fair dos. It's always worth trying to understand the process even if at times we arrive at the wrong conclusion!

It could be a worked sell which may explain why the price, even with the decent buying, is slightly flaccid today but then..still decent strength though so happy

B12 - Yes, that's correct. That's why I believe the 5m may be a sell from a warrant exercise. I'm just speculating though until confirmed. cheers
