I hold a small number of SOLG. I did own more but when the price was crushed I couldn't afford to hold all of them. Needed the cash. it's the capital demands of developing Alpala which may unnerve Newcrest and the risk exposure to that investment should the politics of Ecuador change for the worse. I suspect Newcrest is also slightly nervy of PNG as well. Their government is also very skittish. The political risk is there in both nations unlike WA (Aus). Surely the aim is to maximise value and returns while minimizing risk....havieron ticks all those boxes and the capital demands of bringing Hav into production are relatively lower

In their presentation GGP did refer to having strong relationships with 'other majors'. I am assuming that's a reference to majors other than NCM so I wouldn't be surprised if Heddle does manage to pull something out of their bag. First refusal though for NCM on some licences

It's a great bargaining chip for Heddle. And the idea that NCM would be content with 70-75% of a resource that wil propel NCM's earnings and cashflow is surely without foundation.
