Trade reporting is inconsistent and inaccurate as a result of the system's inability to accurately determine the buy or sell nature of each trade. The system will report a real time trade (not a delayed trade) according to the mid-price at the time. This is bullsh-tt as many times we can buy within the spread and sometimes buy at bid which would then be classified as a sell not a buy

The system isn't perfect so the data it produces isn't accurate. If each trade was reported according the contents of the contract note then all trades would be accurate 100% of the time but contract notes are private and confidential documents so that isn't an option

Advice - try and ignore trade reporting. It will send you loopy

I find that the only market data I need is the best sell price and the best buy price..all is utterly superfluous

The assertions of fact that I here lay out on gold have been honourably vouchsafed to me but I have no means of checking them. If anybody wishes to correct me I am immediately available.

However, there is a massive long position in June gold which might reasonably be expected to liquidate as the make up day approaches. Only this time an appreciable number of holders will seek to take delivery of gold. This could see the price through $2,000 in hours.

If you doubt this proposition you may be interested to know that currently the price of physical gold at Sharps Pixley is c. $1,850. This bears no resemblance to the current futures prices.

And as for the $3tn borrowings by the US government where there is very little prospect of such being repaid, I think I would rather hold gold – wouldn’t you?

'I was able to speak with one of our mining engineers about your question. It is difficult to answer with specific numbers because the cost depends very much on the size and length of the decline, as well as how good/bad the ground conditions are.

My colleague suggested that a typical size is 4.5 metres by 4.5 metres and most underground ramps are driven at a 7:1 incline. He said that using A$6,000 per metre as an estimate to drive the decline is a reasonable assumption.

What is the relevance of Breccias that contain high grade gold-copper or any other valuable mineral? Do these 'loose gravel' formations when exhibiting gold etc always contains high grade? Do the presence of Breccias signal something special within a deposit?

If a gold-copper hosting Breccia deposit is found does this signal that other gold hosting Breccias will be nearby in the same deposit?

kemp - the market maker gives you a price (at best) for the volume you wish to trade (B or S) and you accept or reject. Online or by NT through your broker, it is the MM who decides the best price at which the trade is executed

On GGP the stock is SETSQX so you can access the order book directly (£2k a month or sumfink like that) but that's for professionals
