Just another observation. GH made reference to more shareholder news 'shortly'. Well, on that basis this news cannot be news that is issued by Newcrest (does Newcrest now have sole authority to issue news that relates specifically to the GGP-NCM JV?) so it must be news covering GGP's non-JV operations...that's my rather naive take

Lots of hot money in GGP though as it's a decent traders stock with good liquidity, lots of volume and decent news-flow...It's a honey pot at present and that's great for all concerned whatever your time-scale

I now couldn't give a flyin' shiiite what happens intra-day as the fundamentals of GGP are cemented..I feel the direction of travel is now set

I wonder if the market is wary of a placing? Does it think slight dilution over divestment is Heddle's intention? Just musing. Dilution to create mega value is always applauded. Dilution to keep the company lights on is awarded short shrift and utterly punished by the market

if the gold price was determined by the demand for and supply of physical gold then I suspect the POG would be far above what see today but unfortunately those paper-gold traders keep POG on a tight leash....If POG did explode that would trigger alarm bells across the financial syste

Gold down 0.5%. Newcrest up 7%. I'd say the market is bidding up Newcrest as a result of the results from Havieron. That's a pretty significant rise for a $23bn company based on Havieron and of course results from Red Chris
