How would you value Havieron? You couldn't value the asset as per the initial MRE as this SRK produced document would only provide a snapshot of what's contained within. We have another 12 months of drilling to come at Havieron so Newcrest is at least confident the asset may get larger (whether in-fill to improve confidence of grade or step-out drilling to expand known mineralisation). What value of Havieron then?

We're told an offer for Havieron may arrive post-initial MRE but if the initial MRE represents a only portion of the entire Havieron discovery then any offer would almost certainly be based on factual data and a total guess for the rest. What if Havieron contains another 15m oz not yet discovered?
We'd be well p-ssed off if in 3 years time (post sale) we look back and see Newcrest still hitting good grades!

We can only put our faith and trust in the good judgement of GH. With plenty of skin in the game I suspect he'll want to protect his capital without any due risk which is why I believe Newcrest will buy the entire company.

I cannot imagine the news would be anything other than positive for the company and the price especially since Heddle's already flagged it. He's hardly going to flag bad news...

Just because a drill fails to find mineralisation doesn't necessarily mean that the rock into which they have drilled is barren. The drill may have narrowly missed mineralisation

Regarding my post re drilling at Goliath rather than Scallywag. I will amend it slightly to say that if a j/v with Newcrest is done for Scallywag, then it is possible they may drill there first.

Difficult to see a j/v without any initial drilling being done, but if the latest step outs ( not yet reported) have found gold, then I suppose it may be possible that Newcrest would think HAV and Scallywag could be connected.

Hope a j/ v isn’t signed at the moment unless on much better terms than HAV.

I believe the point DW makes regarding other JVs on better terms than the Havieron JV is worthy of repetition and emphasis...this could really bump up our cash balance if such deals could be struck...GGP should play one major off against another

CV-19 was the proverbial Black Swan event but there is another one that could rear its ugly head and that is a military skirmish or coming together between the Chinese and the US in the SCS. Australia is conscious of such an event. If this does happen gold will explode

What licence-tenements do GGP control that have already been explored by and rejected by the majors for various reasons?

Example. We know Newcrest explored Havieron some years back and kicked into touch due to deep cover and the technical challenges associated with that. A tiny little explorer then appears and applies modern techniques and hey presto, one of Australia's premier AU-AG discoveries for many a year

The point I am making is a simple one. Will Newcrest and indeed other majors (Heddle did say GGP 'maintain good relations with other majors') revisit those now GGP held tenements they once held because they believe may have missed another Havieron?

Hoping for another major besides Newcrest to come on board with another JV. Ye old FOMO law applying itself
