Let's hope that if this route is taken Newcrest don't hamstrung the earnings from Telfer-Havieron with an idiotic, punitive hedge agreement that destroys the upside from a metal price (Gold and indeed Copper) that is now exposed to global monetary destruction and a geo-political environment that becomes riskier by the day (US-Sino conflict in the SCS)

So this article is saying that the Telfer mine becomes economically (reserves that are left have become prohibitively expensive to extract and process) 'bankrupt' from 2023 and that earnings from Telfer from 2023 will probably be delivered from Havieron?

I just can't see that they won't try to buy 100% of Havieron when one considers the earnings boost it will give to one of their main profit centres, Telfer.
