DF - This is Ecuador not Australia and in terms of political risk (and the dilution associated with capex demands of such large assets) it is something that most astute investors can barely tolerate so monetisation is the sensible and least risky option

I think we'll see a knockout bid for SOLG the company by a BHP-Newcrest combo as this would give both companies an unparalleled and almost unimpeachable control over some of the most prospective areas of Ecuador plus of course SOLG's discoveries to date which I suspect also have exploration upside..Newcrest isn't that cashed up but then SOLG's assets are far too tempting for them not to find new sources of capital to finance this strategy. Newcy could be thinking of going down the copper route as per BHP and why not...
