Hi LB, re your 9.37 post
I have been keeping records of Morningstar info since the first mysterious ii placing. I only keep a record of the total figures for the top twenty and Van Eck’s holding on the funds page, I don’t follow individual movements.
My recent records show the following
20/12 Funds: 58,501,692 VE: 3,030,521 Insti: 67,473,069
19/01 Funds: 58,526,023 VE: 3,773,192 Insti: 67,286,763
01/02 Funds: 59,610,516 VE: 4,547,393 Insti: 68,546,546
For comparison ATH figures were reported 7/7/21 for Funds, Insti’s and 02/08 for VE.
07/07 Funds: 69,521,928 VE: 5,141,451 Insti: 76,221,600
The ii placings of 41,551,563 (RNS 20/09) and 53,306,751 (RNS 26/05) shares have never showed up on Morningstar so I am not too sure how useful their info is to be honest.
Sorry Roger just read your reply again.
Yes it is going off. They were in Court on 13th May whn Natalia Potanina threw her last gasp at it when appealing and having her refusal for "divorce tourism" overeturned so that she can now make a claim. Incidentally we were told of the asset sale the day before.
The shortly RNS was released in late Sept which would have timed nicely for the Court appearance on 7th Dec. That maybe didn't go as Potanin envisaged.
Also as a coincidence the EUA tweet was released on 14th Jan, the same day the acceptance of the 9nr month divi appeared on NN website. Is $2.08 per share divi for nine months a sweetener for their shareholders when the NN BoD want to pay multiple billions for a £750 million MCAP company.
The bad thing is the permissions to appeal were published at the end of last week and Potanin v Potanina wasn't on it.
If the above is anything to do with it, it may rumble on a while yet.
Morning Roger
I see things as being more simple than you mention. This is just me adding two and two together and making five.
I have convinced myself that Nornickel have all but concluded the deal for EUA v1.
Our BOD are not in a position to update shareholders due to the following,
“The judge said Mr Potanin was waiting to hear whether justices would allow him to take the case to the Supreme Court.
He said Supreme Court justices could “knock the [High Court] case out of the water”.
Mr Francis said the couple had married and divorced in Russia. Lawyers representing Mr Potanin say Ms Potanina’s claim for money in England is “misconceived”.
They told Mr Francis that Ms Potanina had been awarded more than £60 million from litigation in Russia.
But her lawyers disagree and say the extent of Mr Potanin’s wealth has to be considered”.
If the BOD were to announce the deal then Potanin’s personal wealth over the LOM of (possibly) MT, Flanks, NKT, Poaz, Nyud (and maybe more Kola assets as they are proved up) would increase dramatically.
If the above scenario was playing out it would also explain why there is no apparent rush to get to production. What is another year or two when you are already a major producer, the natural resources are in big demand and prices continue to increase. Also, if you win your court case you don’t have to share it with your ex (he certainly appears happy enough letting her exist on £60m when he has circa £20bn plus).
Potanina v Potanin needs to be settled once and for all for me and then I think things will happen very swiftly.
Until the court case is settled the BOD are unable to provide detail or a timescale.
Come on UK Supreme Court, move it on a bit!
Hi Lovelyboy
Forgive the novice question, but……..
Who is responsible for the TR1 declarations and what sanctions apply if a disclosure is not forthcoming when it should.
Just say (for instance), if a Russian investor used a US institution to execute a “private transaction” or two, what would (or could) AIM do to someone whose usual activity is in Moscow or St Petersburg?
Nornickel shareholders recently voted to accept a divi of $2.08 per share for the nine month period in 2021. This compares favourably with recent years when they received $0.85 2020, $0.97 2019, The only time this value has been bettered was all the way back in 2007.
They are also investing heavily in improving metal extraction and processing in Kola in early 22. Perhaps they see an increase in production on the horizon.
I still see them as favourites for our Kola goodies. Severonickel is only 3km away after all.
