Spotted two different articles relating to researchers using Type 1 Interferons as a marker Covid Patients

This one looks like they are close to being able to narrow down those that may be more likely to be a serious covid case by the amount of anti-IFN-I autoantibodies in their blood and an absence of IFN-I response was demonstrated in nasal swabs .
Cases with high IFN-I response in nasal swabs are less likely to be serious it seems , as they have the ability to produce the response .
All sounds very complicated , but I think the upshot here is :
1.) Serious cases seem to lack that initial ability to produce Interferon I response
2.) Ergo - administering IFN I as a therapy would bolster that response and reduce chance of serious condition .

Second article - studies in Harvard Boston - come up with some quite relevant findings

The most interesting findings; however, came from the comparisons within the COVID-19 positive group. The epithelial cells of patients with mild COVID-19 displayed significantly increased expression of genes regulated by type 1 interferon. This interferon alerts the wider immune system of an infection. Severe, intubated COVID-19 patients displayed a significantly muted response to type 1 interferon.

Severe patients did have an increased prevalence of macrophages and other immune cells that increase inflammatory responses in particular.

Commenting on these results, Jose Ordovás-Montañés (Boston Children’s) stated that, “Everyone with severe COVID-19 had a blunted interferon response early on in their epithelial cells and were never able to ramp up a defense. Having the right amount of interferon at the right time could be at the crux of dealing with SARS-CoV-2 and other viruses.”

When Hibiscus finally gets going , one would hope that these kinds of markers will be recorded as part of the data gathering analysis .

Yes this is just the fizzle of the fuse , not take off .
In my book , we aren't recovering until we see at least £5 , and even then we are undervalued by miles .

her talk consists of :-

Pre-clinical and clinical development of bexmarilimab Breast tumor and ovarian ascites samples -what can they tell us about immune switch Nanostring, scRNA and cytokine multiplexing .

Not sure exactly what that means , but looks like she has some new data regarding breast and ovarian cancer studies with Bex that deserve a spot at the summit .

Looking on Hollmen lab website , looks they they themselves get funding from the Academy ( Suomen Akatemia ).
They also list Faron as a support partner too amongst a few others .

Whether the cuts will affect them or not , who knows , but shes obviously fired up as many of her peers etc rely on that kind of support to continue their research .

Luckily , we have Business Finland , Cancer IO , the EIA and others lining up to supply grants and soft loans to keep the Bex progress going .

Possibly a good move getting Maija into the limelight on that last presentation , she might be looking for a new sponsor .

Well , I shoved a whole lot more into GGP this week . Thats me pretty much done . I think I've timed it about right , but either way I'm in no rush .
I've enough here now that 1p makes a big difference ( by my standards) .
I'm ready now to sit back and enjoy the next chapter of the GGP/Newcrest story .

He did set up over at ArgoBlockchain for a bit , where he was politely described as ' an Enigma ' . I think he may have hit the big time there , cashed his chips in and retired . 11,000 odd posts , mainly saying ' its happening ' lol .
But I give him credit for getting my interest here , and looking into this company that looked like it was on its uppers at the time . The bounce back took a bit longer than he envisaged . I hope he kept some shares .

I know Zen certainly was lol .
And Bex has got a much bigger market to go at than Tarumakine has .
The combinations , let alone the number of solid tumour targets , make putting a £ figure on it almost impossible .
It has to be a 4 or 5 bagger from here just for starters if it gets marketed though .

Interesting when you look back at the highest share price Faron has ever been .
£8.80 odd in late Feb 2018 , and that was after a placing the week before at £8.05 to raise £15 million.
A week before the placing the SP was £8.40 , and at that time there were approx 30 million shares in issue.

So £8.40 with 30 million shares - Mcap £252million

We now have 70% more shares in issue than back then . 50 million . And our Mcap is £225 million .

So only 10% off our peak Mcap - when our SP was £8.40 .

Back then , confidence was sky high . Traumakine seemed nailed on . Manufacturing was gearing up .
Faron hired an ex Astra Zeneca Global Marketing Director , Dr Juhana Heinonen , to be Chief Commercial Officer .
Unfortunately that position only lasted 11 months as he left in Nov 18 after the Interest steroid debacle .

Roll on 3 years - and here we are again on the cusp of another breakthrough , this time with Bexmarilimab .
The market seem to be very confident again , as we edge towards new all time high Mcap again .

Its a shame we've had all those extra shares issued , otherwise we'd be looking at £7.50 instead of £4.40 today , but there again we'd never have got to this point without that dilution .
In fairness , Faron have done a pretty good job at keeping it to 50 million , given the money its taken to get us here .

And this near all time high Mcap is at a point when we still don't have a partner announced , and still waiting on a Matins update .

Back in 2018 , Clevegen was still in its infancy , all the Mcap was riding on Traumakine ( hence the drop to £1 overnight , and even then the painful roll down to a full on hat and chips eye watering 53p )

Looking back , its been a hard old road for Faron , and the LTH to get to where we are again today . We've had some good old rogerings from the market over these 3 years . Highs , and lows . The covid roller coaster . The frustrations . We've had it all .

Anyway , I hope we can all enjoy this next period without any disasters. I'm sure there will be some surprises . And if and when we do hit the jackpot , we can all say that we certainly didn't do it the easy way !

£45k buy at £4.50 this morning .
This buying is relentless , and whoever it is , isn't waiting for a dip .

I've noticed that the Calendar on their website is noticeably empty at the moment . It's usually got 2 or 3 investor conferences and scientific gatherings booked in . Blank at the moment apart from results on the 26th Aug .
Maybe nothing , or maybe investor events aren't the main focus at the moment.

I bought at 2.5p , but also at over 30p .
One of Rick Rules little quotes is something like if you discover more about a company that gives it more value , but the price goes up too , don't worry , because its still worth buying more as its also now more valuable .
In my mind it was good value at 30p ( as a long term investment ) . And since we know a whole lot more since those days , it has to be even more good value at 30p .
So at 17p ....

Buy the dips . At the risk of sounding like Porky , I have added again .
Anything under £3 just screams bargain .
Whether that be takeover , dispute resolution or just continued business .
This company is still in the early chapters of its new life as a global diagnostics company .

Some conjecture as to why Hibiscus has taken so long to start recruiting .
Covid hospitalisations in the Boston/Massachusetts area had dropped from the peak of the second wave in Jan 2021 of over 2000 ( 500 odd in ICU ), right down to about 90-100 ( 9 or 10 in ICU) for most of June and July .
So surely that would impact the timescales predicted for trials in the pipeline such as ours .
In the last month however , hospitalisations have risen from 89 ( 9 in ICU ) to 314 (76 in ICU )in Massachusetts hospitals , and if the trend line is a predictor , that could be well over 500 again by Sept .
One thing you need for a trial on hospitalised Covid patients is just that .
