Finland is developing a revolutionary cancer treatment that may help patients who are not responding to other drugs - the work of Sirpa's mother and daughter Maija is behind the “miracle drug”

Bexmarilimab has already been dubbed a miracle drug. Is it really like that?

- It is not a panacea in the sense that it is effective against all cancers. Such a medicine will certainly never be found. The miracle cure for it is because of how it works in the eating cell. The mechanism by which immune defense is elicited is interesting: Clever-1 differs from all other molecules studied in its mechanism.

- I believe that bexmarilimab could be used to treat some types of cancer in 2-3 years.

One of the types of cancer that has responded best to treatment is melanoma. It is the fastest growing cancer in Finland and other Western countries.

- We have melanoma patients in the study who have not responded to immunological antibodies. Still, some of them have got really good responses with our medicine. I believe people with advanced melanoma could get help with this drug, Hollmén says.

The drug has already been patented in the United States and Japan, which are important areas for drug development. Elsewhere, such as in Europe, a patent application is pending.

The working group is about to publish recent results at international cancer conferences. The work is still in its infancy.

- We are now feverishly trying to find in patients the factors that influence their response to treatment. On the laboratory side, we examined the samples to understand what types of patients show the response. We are also expanding clinical research to those types of cancer where a response has been observed, Hollmén says.

From 16 minutes - talks about what the best way forward is . His view is not vaccines ( although he supports them )- but treatments should be at the forefront .
he says imagine you can get a drug - that knocks it out like an antibiotic - he is ****ed off that its not being talked about at FDA etc .
Concerned that many people are not eligable at the moment for any treatments .
Talks about infusions - but very involved .
Remdesivir - + others under EUA's ( that aren't really that effective ) is all they have .
Nursing care - and knowing how to look after people with simple actions is making biggest difference .

Just seen a message from a new poster here that disappeared ( maybe my end ) , but makes an interesting point .

The latest Faron presentation focuses on 3 cancers that have shown positive responses , enough to warrant further study .
The slides went into detail on those 3. Gastic , Melanoma , and Cholangiocarcinoma ( bile duct)
Now it appears there are four ( according to latest media coverage )
Looks like we can add liver cancer to the list .

We can still pick them up for £4.50 .
Why are they paying a premium - unless time is running out to get them at a half reasonable price , and nobody is shedding shares in any meaningful numbers for them.

Understandable they couldn't comment on DHSC but I took 3 things away from this :
1.) Relationship and business with DHSC in ongoing - so dispute isn't a divorce as such
2.) Business is booming elsewhere , so minus DHSC company future is looking great anyway
3.) Plenty more to come - US expansion , M&A , new products , and a new CEO

Not gonna flip my recent buys for a quick profit , but will see where this runs and make a lot more I feel .

sales - too soon since launch for detailed sales data - in UK obviously waiting to see when the Uk Govt stops giving them away - but plenty of opportunities in non NHS and non UK areas .
