There are several ways to mitigate H2S. If low enough it can be treated with H2S scavenger chemicals. If higher quantities and depending if its in the oil or gas phase then may require stripping column for oil or amine regen plant for gas. Amine treatment essentially just absorbs H2S in chemical which is then regenerated by boiling/condensing etc. Very similar to Gas Dehydration Glycol System but bit more complicated. However, in my experience these systems are extremely large depending on quantity of gas/oil to be processed. Would be a very large brown field modification I suspect so probably best to install new bridge linked platform or cantilever arrangement. May also need associated mercury/mercaptan treatments depending on oil composition. BP used to be very strict regarding entry spec for FPS so I'm assuming Ineos will be the same.

A selfish point of view to this news is that the drilling beds on the platform are freed up for the PMG Tie-back. Will require (minimum) riser, chemical injection, hydraulics, isolation valves subsea, DCS upgrades and some pipework/valve mods topside. That will require quite a few bodies and if the Scott is like everywhere else then beds are at a premium.
