roger 65 , thank you re bottling. This at the time caused eyebrows to be raised at the agm where investment bankers etc attended. Why they didn't publicize the change I just don't know. Where did you get that info from ?

Found your comments very useful Roger, thank you. The CEO is key to this in some respects as apart from the fairly newly appointed FD who bought some shares, the other directors hold a minimal number. I wonder if part of the problem is that he is so obsessed with the product that business aspects come second. For example, he insists on a certain unique size of bottle which means the bottles will have to be shipped from New Zealand to the USA , and then filled. Hardly the biggest cost saving way of doing things. I think very serious doubts if a CEO says he is relaxed about a share price that is so low for so long from the issue price. With other companies I hold they are constantly finding excuses to issue RNSs and keep shareholders informed. Based in NZ you would think that this company would go out of its way to do the same but it doesn't . In summary the next results are key for me as well. Cannot year in year old wait for the golden well .

I so hope your right . But if so why did they offer 2 for 1 in the Christmas run up. I remain very uncomfortable here even though at a substantial loss I have reduced my holding significantly. With the share price being depressed for so long, it worries me that there has not been one director buy in a VERY long time. I know I am being illogical but something just doesn't feel right. The CEO constantly saying he is not worried about the share price and that it will find its own value is fine for a short period but not with the share price being so low for so long, despite what I think is positive news re distributorships and local bottling. Hoping the results prove me wrong and I can relax as in the past I have tended to always regret not listening to my gut instincts ! As I say , totally illogical hopefully

Mike, appreciate your comments and advice. Your level of knowledge is a lot better than mine re TMI. Did you used to be involved in finance and/or shipping ? Your advice re treading carefully is noted . I may well reinvest the dividends elsewhere for the time being.... and in the meantime hoping they are not cut ! Thanks once again Sam

Thought a new subject heading appropriate before we all take ourselves back to the 1960s and 1970s ! If China is similar to other markets it should have a period of intense activity with the end of lockdown and as the current wave slowly diminishes. I have a number of mining shares and it would appear these companies are definitely believing an upturn will occur. In the meantime I am leaning to continue investing my dollar dividends in the company.

You made me laugh Krusty. I couldn't find his age and thought lets just trust to memory that I thought he was older . I was born in 57 ! He still has outside interests but will certainly be interesting to see who they appoint and who hopefully adds value to the enlarged company. I still await the rns re delisting of Grindrod. I am sure that is coming . Congrats to all those over 60 here ! And in March my pension kicks in !

Hi , I have been involved in a number of blue chip companies where post a take over or merger senior officials have resigned. Given the positive tone of the comments by all the parties I dont see anything particular untoward here. The gentleman was quite elderly and given the new geographical spread of the company a significant amount of travel is likely to be involved in the early years of the enlarged company. I found some of the comments about the dynamic team pleasing. The index def less so but probably needs China covid to play out as it has done elsewhere in the world. Poor use of words but you know what I mean

This is by far my biggest investment so have really valued your imputs during the year.Thank you both. To my mind the next steps are 1. delist Grindrod, 2. get debt down. 3. go for economies of sale to assist with 2 and drive profit. Result hopefully a revaluation of a much larger profitable company

Hi Mike and Krusty, been in South Africa for the last month and whilst could read your comments could not make my own. Really enjoyed reading such informative posts. For me the dividend cover really stood out, also the shares should hopefully rerate once the deal concludes. Lastly, they are clearly going to focus on reducing the debt quickly with asset disposals to ensure the fleet is as modern as possible. Once the new regulations come in, the fleet should hopefully be more valuable. I have steadily being buying more and whilst sitting on a nasty loss at the moment am very comfortable it will come good with a board that mixes young with ambition and older with experience. Happy Christmas all and 2023 should be interesting.. I have just checked and I now own a mighty 0.006 of the company !!! who would have thought lol

More director buys just announced. Personally i think they are a steal at this price. I also think directors would not be buying if they thought the grindrod bid would not succeed and add value. Mt own opinion and as always dyor.

The company has been going for some time and is fast running out of money as they advised in the agm which I attended and in the annual report. I am happy to be patient but not if a company continues to miss its own target dates and doesn't offer alternatives.... in fact offers just a stunning silence. Hence my decision to reduce my holding so substantially. Fortunately reinvested and one of those is really doing well. Life is a lottery it almost seems

I am researching this share and thinking of investing. I hold my shares in interactive investor but note on the company web page that dividends are only paid by direct debit. Does this mean dividends would not be automatically credited to my II account like my other holdings ? Most grateful for advice as seems a good company

This is undoubtedly the most frustrating share I have ever owned. So much promise. I spoke to my contact in New Zealand last night. He now adds that supply chain uncertainties and global shipping rates a factor. I have had enough. Supply chain issues worldwide are easing and shipping rates have fallen heavily. My largest holding by a mile is Taylor Maritime Shipping so I keep close tabs on shipping rates. I personally view there being no announcement this side of Christmas. I so hope I am wrong for those invested here. From being my largest holding I have steadily sold down at a mighty loss I might add. I now hold a mere 100,000 shares after selling more this morning which I will keep and ride out. I hope this comes good but I do wonder about whether they are finding that New Zealand as a base is just too difficult to manage this. Incidentally, no restrictions on directors buying at this time or indeed earlier. They have been free to buy since last market update, They have had a window of months ! Bitterly bitterly disappointing .Am now going to study markets to see where I can make my losses back from. Good luck to all.
