Still seem cheap. but ultimatly LONDON, September 21 (newratings.com) - Analyst Sandy Chen of Panmure Gordon maintains his "buy" rating on Absolute Capital Management Holdings Ltd (ticker: A9B). The target price is set to 150p. In a research note published this morning, the analyst mentions that the company has declared restructuring proposals for five of its ten funds. These five funds contain substantial illiquid positions, the analyst says. While the restructuring proposal is under consideration, fund redemptions have been suspended by these five equity funds, Panmure Gordon adds. Nothing concrete though!

LONDON (Thomson IM) - AIM-listed hedge fund manager Absolute Capital Management (ACM) has bowed to investor pressure and allowed investors in four funds currently being restructured to redeem up to 30 pct of their investments over the next 12 months. The firm, which has 3.2 bln usd of assets, said that 'following discussions with numerous fund investors' liquid share classes in the Absolute Return Europe Fund, Absolute European Catalyst Fund, Absolute Octane Fund and Absolute East West Fund can now be redeemed. Absolute Capital was faced with over 100 mln usd in redemption notices within a day of last week's sudden departure of co-founder and joint chief investment officer Florian Homm. It has not released any updated figure on redemptions. The redemption calls resulted in four of Absolute capital's 10 hedge funds facing the prospect of liquidation unless investors agreed to separate illiquid holdings into a 'side pocket' of shares.
LONDON (Thomson Financial) - AgCert International PLC said progress has been steady but slower than anticipated since it implemented a strategic review of its operations and finances in the first half of this year, including ongoing job cuts, while it unveiled a reduction in its interim losses. The producer of greenhouse gas emission reductions said pretax losses were down to 28.46 mln eur from 47.12 mln the year before but revenues and operating costs for the first half 2007 are in line with its expectations.
He sounds a bit nuts. Absolute Capital did not wish to comment on Homm's departure, and no one seems to know if he is sequestered away in Spain or in London, or anywhere else. But it is also still unclear why the former German national basket player decided to cut and run when he could have simply sacked the members of his management with whom he had a dispute. The hedge fund's Chief Executive, Jonathan Teacher, was surprised at the resignation when a print out of Homm's vitriolic public letter was handed to him last Monday morning in Majorca. Teacher told the Times of London that Homm had complained "a bit but not hugely" and that there certainly weren’t any suggestions he would react as he did. "Despite the theories, we’ve no idea why he did it, " Treacher said. "We’ll have to wait until he reappears."
Abcap paid £50.6m for Argo. thats more that the MK of Abcap in total at the moment. As far as im aware none of Argos funds are affected and not even all of Abcaps are. It seems way to cheap. What am I missing. What are the main risks with this company?
Something Fishy going on....
Reading the FT yesterday, it gave me the idea that maybe he made the shares crash so to get at his wife. His wifes payout for the divorce settlement (3 weeks ago) was valued at £17.6m in shares is no only £2.2m. Maybe they he fell out with her that much! Also it is extremely confusing this selling the shares to whom he supposedly fell out with. I got the impression he was more on bad terms with Abcap directors anyway.

LONDON: D1 Oils, the UK biofuels producer that grows its own materials, will "comply" with an Indian court ruling if found guilty of violating laws designed to control foreign exploitation of the nation's resources. The Indian National Biodiversity Authority referred the company to a court in the district of Raipur for allegedly using strains of jatropha, a plant used to make biodiesel, without approval, the authority's chairman said. Indian plantation accounts for 35 per cent of D1 Oils' jatropha farming. "The legislation in India should not apply to jatropha," Ronald Oxburgh, D1 Oils chairman, said today. "Everything we did in India was based on this belief. If it turns out to be wrong, we will certainly comply." London-based company D1 Oils is seeking to develop higher- yielding jatropha seeds to boost production and meet growing demand for alternative fuels. It said that the company has plans to start a joint venture with BP Plc, Europe's second-largest oil company, to plant jatropha, a drought-resistant, oilseed-bearing tree.
