Its 6 weeks for validation, in normal business practice this includes testing and everything else that goes with it - when you validate a product you check that it works as per expectation, thats not authorization.
They would not go through all this trouble if they didnt get FDA. I think FDA will come first. Hopefully GDR can then announce some numbers because at the moment they cannot sell something to Beckman they are not authorised to sell as no FDA.
Realistically i think theyll get validation done in a month, the amount of shiit DB has got, if i were him i would play this conservatively and add an extra week or two on, also they will be working on the swab to saliva in tandem too.
But i agree with you. If everything works and in a month or 6 weeks its all validated and they announce 3-4 more labs its suddenly looking good. The key points is that Beckman make the PCR machines and the reagents, and the tests through the Cytiva subsidiary. Setting up more labs should be very easy.
