The lithium at the Uis mine occurs predominantly as petalite (a lithium aluminum silicate mineral), and the company has successfully produced high-purity petalite concentrate through their pilot and bulk sampling efforts:

As early as 2023, they commissioned a lithium pilot plant and produced initial batches of saleable lithium (petalite) concentrate—starting with small amounts like 10 tonnes for testing and offtake discussions.

They later operated a bulk lithium sampling plant (adjacent to the main tin plant) to produce petalite concentrate samples for further testing, optimization, and engagement with potential buyers. Reports from 2024–2025 confirm ongoing production of high-purity petalite concentrate from this setup, the integration of lithium circuit to the tin tantalum circuit is possibly a lot easier than many people think.

I don’t recall Afritin ever being anything other than a hard rock mining company, the tailings processing claims are certainly misleading and claims that this was luck when both AV’s late Father and Uncle were widely celebrated and respected Geologists who published many books and papers on Africa minerals over the years is way off. It wasn’t luck that led him to Uis, Nais Nais and the others it was generational knowledge.

I’m sure that I will get shouted down for failing to accept the negative spin but quite frankly it becomes just that.. Fake news one man would call it. No communication they complain, post on X twitter they complain, RNS a positive update and they try and convince that it’s terrible and when the price of our products rises and the company are in a better position it’s only luck.

His tweet is simply acknowledging the high price of Tin and that we are continuing to deliver, I’m delighted to see that he’s feeling positive and happy to post on X, I’d have to be in a pretty dark spot to see it negatively.

We’ve got the Tin and the Tantalum to the market (hopefully another record qtr) now would be great to see the JV partner SQM make the next instalment, I still find it difficult to believe that we are valued at less than £60M and SQM are throwing in $40M for a share of the ridge. It’s definitely a share that I’d rather be in than out of and I agree with Nesty about high hopes for the future.

It really is fantastic news, I’m surprised that the share price reaction has not been stronger. I was questioning the management last week on how they would achieve the EoY tonnage guidance that they have provided when they were only able to achieve 33% in the first half of the year; They gave a positive response and underlined their commitment to the guidelines. Bearing in mind that the last quarter production was record breaking, I’m excited of what is possible now they really are going to get the Goantagab ore and the 2nd Jig .

Production updates came on 14/9/2022 and 15/9/2023 admittedly it was back end of September last year but it could be any time from now on. I am hoping for a really positive operation update after what AV said about the July production numbers.

That would be the one from October last year? I guess it is positive that you are having to go back that far to be negative about the Management. In fairness ATM have gone well beyond what would be expected from a mining company of this size with regards to ESG, we have really well respected team and I’m sure that the Namibian government want to see the tourism sector and the mining industry working. Why are we all concerned about the platinum price, we are more influenced by the Rhodium aren’t we?

Does anyone have a source for me on where I can see the insitu drilling results for the Thabla JV as I imagine that would likely change the makeup of our basket ?

The way I see it is that if they have 20p in cash then I am only paying 26p for the business, that’s incredibly cheap for the existing business not to mention that we are just starting an additional income stream

I topped up with a decent amount today: At last announcement I believe we had 23p per share and although some of that is given as a loan to the JV partner we still have a good cushion of cash and revenue about to take another step up from the chrome and later (15%) more pgms. Happy holder .
