Analyst target price for Transense is 349p, so this has some way to go if the potential in the business is realised.

Synectics have secured a new contract extension for one of their existing casino clients valued at just under £5m. That’s great news. It would be even better if they could secure some of the new casino business that is in the pipeline over the next 18 months. These would be major deals.

This is worth far more than that Scooby. Median analyst forecast is a share price of 822p within next 12 months - below what it was in the middle of last year, and that was before their two most recent accretive acquisitions last year. I haven’t tried to calculate the fair value myself but expect it would significantly exceed your suggested takeover figure.

One small milestone which gets little airtime is the outstanding warrants. These are due to end at the end of this month. I assume those that hold these will exercise them.

A welcome jump in the sp today. Not immediately obvious what’s driving this. It can’t be the recent announcements of moderate redundancies.

There's certainly some significant movement in the sp today. Steady buying by someone / fund taking a position or increasing a position. Onward Opportunities recently increased their position so perhaps something is in the pipeline.

Should we be concerned at the further disruptive request for a general meeting, the day after the AGM, from the same party/parties? What’s their agenda?

That should read re-rating, not repeating!

Angling seems to have gone through a repeating during May. It still has room to grow further with analysts giving it a fair value of 55-60p per share. Good to see a top performing retail business begin to get this recognition through an appreciation of the share price.

The market is perhaps just starting to wake up to the value in this business. This still has a long way to go. Last time I checked its target share price was a conservative 30p.

Dartron - when you say you don’t think it’ll break £4.30 with so many shorts do you mean you don’t think it’ll rise much above this figure until the level of shirts dissipates - or are you saying you don’t think it’ll fall much lower?

I agree with much of what you say. It would be useful if they could tighten up the admin costs. Otherwise, even with the slightly higher levels of debt following the acquisitions, the balance sheet and strong business growth over several years all look very strong and positive. There’s little obvious reason for this to be trading at these levels. It will rerate at some point.

re how one identities opportunities, i personally find investor chronicle very helpful in terms of their ideas, their stock screens and, with regard to small caps, simon thomson’s recommendations which i often then dig into to see if i’m interested. i also find ********** and their interviews with small cap fund managers very helpful. that’s how i identified transense technologies - through the ********** interview with lawrence hulse of onward opportunities.

i’m relatively new to investing directly in shares so learning myself of available information sources. thoughts from others welcome.

It’s been declining since summer of last year when it was around 880-890p. Some commentators seem to be hung up on the additional debt it has taken on from last years acquisitions. But look at its history. It’s a serial acquirer and each is reported to be proceeding to plan. Look at its gross margin, its operating margin, its cash generation, its eps growth. It hasn’t missed a beat in terms of delivering on its strategy. I don’t think there is any obvious driver for the so growth other than macro economic factors outwith its control and sentiment. This is a solid business that will continue to squire and the sp will rerate rapidly at some point.

Further strong buying this morning. This share was one of Simon Thompson’s bargain shares in Feb. He predicted strong final year figures which are due soon. Should the company do so we could see a step change in the share price.

It feels like a very interesting moment in the evolution of the company. The potential is clearly there and they have invested wisely it appears. Early signs are positive with the partnership announcement this week and the various projects underway with high-grade customers. It just requires that first major SAW-based deal to fall into place and this will take-off. It just feels like patience may well be rewarded with this one.

I agree. It’ll result in some additional costs and regulation to comply with the main market requirements but it should have benefits in terms of access to capital and great awareness of the shares by Uk funds. I remain baffled as to why the sp has struggled in the past 12 months. This is a gem of a company.

I’m a little surprised that it’s only 2.5%. That’s fairly marginal.
