I understand your view is that they are irrelevant to an investment in Scancell. I respect your view and will “defend to the hilt” your right to hold it and express it.

I happen to disagree, I think it is relevant. I’m sure I’m not the only one here with that view as you are not the only one with yours.

Regarding your earlier post, i have been on that emotional roller-coaster. Good news turns to bad, then not so bad then hopeful then terrible.

Scancell are in the business of cancer treatment. Your personal story revolves around cancer, therefore, anything you post about it will always be very much ON topic.

Finally, before I return the grandchildren to their parents, a word on ice creamgate:
I would hate to give the impression I begrudge buying my grandkids an ice cream, I don’t. They all had double scoops with flake hence the need for the card. We are gradually moving to a cashless society. I am pleased to report, dinner was taken without the need to remortgage the house.

An SP of 50p would be most welcome, as you say, it would help if it skipped and went straight to £2 lol. I said 10p by Friday last week, so I’m going to say it again (and again until it comes true):

It was just about the increased survival using the drug with chemo versus chemo alone. There might be a bit on the bbc web site. Ovarian is one of Scancells targets so thought was relevant. At the park with three grandchildren so can’t help much more!

Did anyone catch the piece on BBC news about ovarian cancer trial? It used a drug called Olaparib which is FDA approved.

morning, hope you are enjoying some respite from the heat. The weather and the debate has been hot recently.

I think it is great that we have an investor like Vulpes "on board" and someone like Martin Diggle "on the board" . The positive effect of Vulpes' investment may well encourage others, both private and institutional to invest. Also, Diggle has experience of the biotech sector so may well bring some insight and ideas to Scancell, I hope so anyway.

I would however caution against building him up as some sort of Messiah to lead Scancell to success, this is just one of his investments and his primary duty is to his fund and it's investors. Having said that, they do go hand in hand, success for Scancell is success for his fund.

When you compare what we have got and where we are now at 9p compared to when the SP was 64p it is really laughable (except it's not when it's real money).

Not sure why you think it is hocus pocus? I’m not a practioner or advocate of TA but surely this is common sense? There comes a level where the number of people who think it is a good price to sell outnumber the number of people who think it is a good price to buy. Of course, the level isn’t set in stone so it may be broken and a new level established where the aforementioned set of rules apply.

However....
Should an RNS appear tomorrow come out stating trials have started, FDA approval given and a deal with BioNTech sanctioned - disregard the above.

There has been a strong and sustained rise over the past few of weeks following the Vulpes investment and appointment of Martin Diggle to the board. I would think Any positive news will keep this trend going. I expect double digits by the end of next week, news or not.

TF, an interesting thought and I can't say one that hadn't crossed my mind. Could he do that without a conflict of interests?

I don’t think the bod have deliberately mislead. I think they like many investors here have not appreciated the colossal amount of time and money it takes to develop drugs. I think there was a hope and expection they would be bought out early. However Moditope scuppered that and lead to the departure of the one person with lots of experience in this area - David Evans.

Martin Diggle may be able to provide some of the input DE used to although not Weald the influence that a chairman could.

In evangelistic circles, people spread the “good news”. This is not “new” news, in fact, it is over 2000 years old. Age doesn’t make the news bad, it remains, for those that accept it, “good news”.

I feel the same about Scancell. The “good news” or even “tremendous news” is not the latest snippet, but the entire Scancell story from inception to where we are now: curing those 2 girls of bone cancer, the survival of late stage melanoma patients, the Moditope discovery, the fund raises to further the cause, the many collaboration going on etc etc.

Just as with Christianity, it has had ups and downs despite a consistent “good news” story.

So C7, please don’t let up on your evangelism and keep highlighting the tremendous news old and new.

A couple of things in your post resonated with me....

Most of us acknowledge the high risk nature of this share. However, compared to 3/4 years ago, we have more potential treatments, we are further down the development path and we have a lower SP. So the risk has reduced and the reward has increased (= higher risk reward ratio)

I tried to look at the pdf through the eyes of an investor new to Scancell and new to immunotherapy. Like you, I thought WOW!

Put the two together - good value investment opportunity + new investors = upward pressure on SP. I think this is what we have seen the last couple of days and I hope it continues. Double digits in the next couple of weeks imo.

Don’t forget, Georges melanoma wasn’t sun related, though the increase reported is certainly down to sun exposure.

The only recollection I have is researcher claiming private correspondence from L Durrant. His claims were pretty much rounded on and dismissed by most here.

I had a look at the Tesaro accounts. It looks like they have ploughed $1.4B into the company in the last 5 years. So GSK have paid roughly 4 times that to aquire them.
From memory, I think Scancell have got where they are by raising £30M ($38M).
If you apply a similar factor, it makes Scancell worth £120M (= 27p/share)

So I can categorically say that Scancell is worth between 27p and £30 per share :)
