You raise a number of interesting points.
If I may offer an opinion on the Dexamethasone market size. I’d say this was very easy to estimate. We know it is now standard of care. We know it will be given as a matter of course to those on oxygen and ventilation and we know the percentage falling into this category. Fergus Walsh on the BBC said a course of treatment is about £5.
So it should be a simple calculation to work out market size, don’t you think?

Yes, it certainly is a conundrum!
One theory put out years ago was that RG used all his skill and experience to avoid doing a deal (at what he considered not good enough for shareholders)

Maybe the next thing in the science, products, data, deals chain is media coverage..

You can not compare a substantial new injection of cash from an instructional investor with a few shares changing hands between pis.
You buying a few bobs worth of another pi does not bring money to Scancell.
If you think the Diggle route is the way to go, at what price? 4p, 5p?
Don’t you think it would be better to gather more data in order to enhance the share price first?

I would tend to agree with your analysis, iterations, data collection and preparing a document to go with the funding application.

I agree, we do have plenty to shout about as far as Immunobody is concerned.
Is that the message you want to put out right now? Haven’t we done that for the last 6 years with limited success?

We seem to have drifted from the original topic, raised by Bunsie about getting Scancell’s profile out there.
My question is/was, what is the message to get out given we have a number of treatments at various stages of progress.
It seems that the popular vote is for something like “we are Scancell, we can do anything better than anyone else, give us some money”
Personally , I don’t see that message getting a good response.
If we measure Covidity on the CH science, products, data, deals scale we get:
Science, possibly great but unproven in the virus setting
Products none
Data none
Deals none to date

So on the Scancell CEO’s own measure we are very embryonic.
So what message have we got?
I think we need more data (as I said earlier)
I wonder how soon we will get some?

Yes I picked up on the Poulam Patel comment as well. I have no doubt Scancell can develop a vaccine that elicits an immune response.
Many of the deaths are where people have successfully killed the virus but their immune response has gone berserk- cytokine attack.
How do we know that mounting a more powerful immune response won’t make the occurrence of a cytokine storm worse?
Surely, this is what needs to be tested and proven?

I never mentioned the approach, the science the method of action or the chance of success.

Now if you want to argue that Scancell’s standing in respect of cancer research and treatment built up over the past 14 years is only the same as its standing in the industry of producing viral vaccines then go ahead.
If you convince me I will sell up and go away.

Reading through the diverse array of views and suggestions for progressing the company you begin to realise the challenge of mounting a coordinated PR approach.
It’s almost like there are two companies:
1) Scancell an established company developing Cancer treatments. Plenty of experience, recognised in the industry, LD having published many peer reviewed papers, well know names in the industry on board, Presence at cancer conferences, successful human trials in melanoma- we all know the story.
2) Scancell the new startup developing a vaccine for Covid-19.
There is an obvious gulf between the two. We do not have the track record in viral vaccines than we do in cancer. Even pre-clinical data is limited. Anyone know where we are with the Covid vaccine right now?
Both arms of the company will at some point need funding. How will this be done? Will funds need to be ringfenced? How will returns be distributed? You begin to see the complications. A totally different investment proposition to 2012 when the plan was to “sell the company”.
I think David Evans had the right idea focusing on a single topic - the Covid research.
What we need from Scancell now is some “compelling” data from the clinic on the Covid progress followed up by quality presentation material.
We need to get the message out, I agree, but we do need to have a strong, irrefutable message.
Then we can get back to what we do best!

I never said that many would debate.... I said there was plenty to debate. Whether or not people chose to or not is entirely up to them.
You accuse me of taking Cliff’s statement as black and white. How else could you take it?

Great products do NOT lead to great data?
Great data does NOT lead to great deal?

If any ONE of the above is true then there won’t be deals. Have you thought through what you are actually arguing.
I’m hoping that what CH Says does come to fruition, albeit later than he stated and later than we expected.
You seem to be calling into question the very principles.
I am quoting in exactly the context that they were stated. The day we can’t take statements made by a company CEO at face value is the day to get out. IMO.
