Here is an extended Holiday Special, in case you need it:
It is interesting, when some are pinning their hopes on a windfall from PRD, to have a close look at just how cash-strapped PRD is. It seems likely that, even if it is extended (tick-tock), PRD will ultimately walk away from their option.
Bigmj urges patience. That will certainly be necessary, but funding is also required. How do you finance a company that is losing money, may soon only have enough left in the bank for the first drill in its scaled down SWP campaign and is nevertheless supposedly about to take on a concession involving minimum work obligations?
Where you have an investor base far too easily influenced by £/$500M MCAP nonsense, by irresponsible CEO tweets and by the local rampers, is the company in any way investable?
In the last update the Group was forecast to remain operationally cash flow positive in 2019. Not cash flow positive overall (you have to wonder if CERP will ever make a profit), just operationally cash flow positive. Albeit with WTI now firmer, you have to wonder if CERP will even get over that low bar.
In the next but last update, of course, LK did forecast that the Group would be cash flow positive overall in Q1. He then proceeded to blow that big style. His track record of missed targets is becoming quite appalling.
One of the worst things about CERP is the way in which so many LTHs have let themselves become over-exposed to it (and a few have let themselves become way over-exposed to it), egging each other on to top up rather than encouraging each other to be careful out there. Ridiculous and irresponsible £/$500M MCAP chat from LK has not helped. Whatever might drive the share price north in the near future, you have to hope that the over-exposed LTHs can recognise how temporary such progress tends to be and take their chances to achieve some kind of de-risk.
LK now has a really quite substantial Whatever happened to...? file. For example, whatever happened to that ER-105 compartment well?
Whatever happened to the magic formula for Goudron well stimulation?
Whatever happened to Goudron Waterflood?
Are we soon going to be asking what happened to the SWP?
How long before we are asking what happened to Suriname?
How much more of this are Schroders going to take? How well did LK spend all that money that they put in at 5p per share? There is not enough left to do the SWP properly.
Look at the way in which TXP are banging their Ortoire drum while CERP are sounding increasingly half-hearted when it comes to the SWP.
Sweet dreams...
