I’m guessing you weren’t around then. I was and I remember it clearly.
This is an AIM stock ( just in case you didn’t know) and aim stocks are volatile (I.e they can and do go up and down quite sharply over a short time)

The price increase you mentioned happened over a very short period of time.

If you can’t handle short term price swings or volatility then I recommend you stick to the ftse 100 (although even they have had some major upsets in the last year)

Maybe just stick to premium bonds then !!

Burble, the date you execute the transaction is your tax calculation point.
The ‘t’ side of the trade is just how long you agree with your provider on how long to settle and clear the cash.

On most platforms you can choose anywhere between 2 and 20 days but your tax point will always be from the moment you execute the trade.
