Brentw1 - I'm one of Smithy's oldies. Just treat it with the contempt it deserves and forget it. Gave up months ago trying to converse with Smithy. Just don't care what he/she says. There's no way in this world Smithy can influence EZJ sp.

Dzygit1980 - I wanted to get in here today but Eqi don't allow it or should I say the FCA have stopped them from allowing PI's to trade cryptocurrencies as of 5th Jan. It was going to be a small trade which as always I could afford to loose if it went wrong. So having to miss out here.

Qzqz - I remember the days of £17.50 and £35 seemed like a pipe dream. Soriot has worked wonders with AZ. Don't knock it mate. Take the div and stop looking at the sp every day. Can't go far wrong with big pharma which ever one it is.

ToffAppleton1 - you are quite correct. All drugs are definitely different and dosages are getting smaller with increasing potency. 30 yrs in the pharma industry taught me that. Paracetamol and aspirin would never get approval now.

I think there is a lot of expectation from all the vaccines and of course it is likely some will be better than others. With a world pandemic everyone wants a cure and asap hence the high expectations.

All I'm trying to say is AZN have a lot of good drugs out there some of which are first in class and don't rely on one vaccine. The share price has been around £80 for many months which I am more than happy with. It's not so long ago when it was below £50. Pfizer offered £54 in a take over bid not many years ago and it was turned down.

We all know how markets react too.

ToffAppleton1/scriven - I'm in AZN and GSK so have an interest in both doing well. I don't mind which vaccine is the best from Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, GSK, AZN/Oxford or any other so long as they work and are approved.

GSK are big into vaccines while AZN never have been. Oncology is where AZN are at their best and if you did some research you would find that out. You could start with Tagrisso and NSCL and there are many more. Yes, my views are biased as I worked at AZN in oncology discovery chemistry for many years.

To suggest that AZN is over valued and is about to plunge is not clever.

As for mistakes yes it was an error giving half a dose in the trial but some would argue this was serendipity. The fact remains by accident they found a better dose regimen. They could have binned it but no, good scientific thinking reacted to the situation successfully. All these companies/organisations employ high class scientists who are experts in their fields and are extremely dedicated to what they do.

So easy to post on a share board shooting down one company or another because we think we know better.

Sadiqbfd - my average is 215p and I'm down 70%. Have been trying my hand for 12 years at this game and so many times I have got it wrong. Have had far fewer successes. As others have said don't give up and you haven't lost until you sell but I've done that too many times as I'm sure others have.

Rich Ken - that's a good post. AVCT have some good cancer projects coming through and it makes for a very interesting read especially after spending 16 years working in oncology drug discovery at AZ.

Good morning Smithy. One more message and that's it. Banter is fine and good fun but when you start to make it a personal issue it's not. I can take your attacks easily enough just as you do on others. I worked in the pharma business for 30 years after leaving Uni and now work as a climbing instructor in outdoor activities and do very well out of it topping up that very good pension from the company I worked for and having great trips to the mountains. I am very fortunate for that and appreciate it.
Reaching buss pass age as you call it is not an end of your life. One day you'll find that out too. As for losses like many others yes there have been some but since all the investments have been small none of them have impacted on anything. Remember never invest what you can't afford to loose.

Smithy - I'll stick around even if I'm not posting. You mentioned furlough once before. I'm not on furlough. I'm retired so wont be heading back to shelf stacking. Sorry to disappoint you on that one. You got that wrong too. As for Covid - 19 I don't think even you would wish it on anyone would you? Take care yourself . I wont be disappearing any time soon. : )

Smithy - as I thought with your reply. It's quite amusing reading all your posts on here. Raises a smile. Nothing will make you see a glimmer of light on anything other than what you say. I'll keep looking in having a laugh. Your views do seem to be in quite a minority on here. Also are you related to Whatamess by any chance or even are you the same person.

Smithy - you make arguments which aren't that credible. To say vaccines don't exist and never will is just nonsense. There are approximately 30 vaccines currently in trials for Covid - 19. Three or four of these are in phase 3 if you know what that means. It's never a given that one will work obviously, no one can dispute that. There are other coronaviruses including the common cold and SARS and as Bruce says the speedy production is due to the existence of templates from past research in the area. They are not starting from ground zero. No one would suggest that 7 billion people could be vaccinated in weeks either. The process would take years but your comments just make you look like a fool to anyone with the slightest understanding of the science. Can you not understand that? I await your scathing reply.

Solar Steve - just hold and see what happens. I'm holding mine and would buy more if I had enough cash. Remember we are here because of Covid - 19 not because EZJ are a crap airline. Ignore Smithy and Watamess. No doubt one or other of them will now shoot me down. They generally do.

Smithy - we had this argument only a few days ago. Why are you so sure there will not be a vaccine? Why are you so constantly negative in everything you say. It just becomes unbelievable in the end. You could possibly gain some credibility in what you say if your arguments were more rational and there was not so much constant doom and gloom.

So Smithy you know all about vaccines too do you. Worked all your life in the pharma industry have you. I have mate and it's not unreasonable that a vaccine will be developed. I see too that your mate whatamess has now defected to IAG. It's quite amusing that you believe everyone believes all your drivel on here.

Whatamess - the problem with A.Smithy is he is NEVER anything but negative and only appears when EZJ is dropping. I would imagine the vast majority on here ignore him.
