Big banks are reducing branches not closing them and the customer in the banking evolution wants this differently and differently isn’t just online.
Add to that the PPI scandal the top 4 aren’t exactly standing out and people stay with them due to limited choices, I think Mtro offer something different and in such a short time have built a following and the top 4 see the landscape to much the same as each other...dangerous game in my view.
Someone mentioned Foot earlier and the talk was they were going bang....then the UKs biggest JD bought them and they have loads of stores next to them...I see £10 plus per share.

Yuri the only thing your not adding into the equation is VH will make this a personal whilst business takeover and that will push the price into possibly the premium zone. If you have ever worked with founders they have normally a mindset most can’t work out this they way they are...different!

The more you weigh up all the news and options clearly Monday will be a bun fight from the shorter to heavily close their positions and even if the news of take over doesn't happen the paranoia will certainly drive up the share price to £3.+ by Tuesday at the latest.
I personally hold a large number of these shares and whilst some would say I may be crazy but I see fair value of north of £10.50 per share when you see the cash generator this business is, VH as founder I think as others wants his swan song and will now use his muscle to get the bank but feel Goldman Marcus side of their business will snatch it from him.
Your asking people with big money to back a 73 year old that has taken it from £30 to £2 thus why I think another financial house will step in to the ring (and I reckon VH already knows he is going to have to everything he possibly can to keep Metro)

I wouldn’t guess an opening fig as I reckon if there is more press coverage this could get it going very hard probably £2.45 opening is my thoughts.
Price on a takeover north of £7, lastly Deos how many shares have you got and what did you pay for them ? Wasn’t sure you’ve mentioned it?

I think the deal is done in principle for Mtro going into other hands and getting the 31st Oct out of the way will probably be a factor for all parties. £9 is the price in my mind for its sale and whilst I said Barclays yesterday the new Marcus account by Goldman would get this part of their business going for them with Mtro,,,and they have some serious cash behind them too.
Looking at todays share price maybe I am seeing this my own way but looks to be fighting to break free going north! possibly £2.20-£2.30 finish for the weekend before the leaks come out?

Because everyone was shorting from £30 weren't they... just like when they bought those shares in Apple in the 80s...do you work standing up or would you suffocate sitting down?
I remember being in Glen when it was 80p and everyone spouting is going bust...Ivan I think over the last few years has made a few billion and as a investor not shorter I made a few quid also hanging in there....bought a bit more than a bottle of champagne!

I have never commented on a share thread I am not invested in.....and if I did I wouldn't waste my time expressing why I wouldn't invest...……..if I was a cynical person I would say these people are paid to do it or not a lots going on!
If you short I would imagine underpants change at the ready soon :)
