Assuming Russia doesn't actually come back to the table as it has before Tullow will suffer through 6 months of bad macro and emerge with much higher oil prices as global production falters, and just as demand is rising rapidly while we are wondering what all the fuss was about this relatively mild virus.

The guy I have spoken with at Tullow has made clear to me that the share price is basically reflecting the question of trust right now. The company is doing everything it can to rebuild that trust, and a major push on this front will happen in just a couple of weeks time. Until there some restoration of confidence the share price is over exposed to negative events, macro or otherwise and is fair game for aggressive trading activities.

Well said. Share price currently is an advertisement for just how bad things have got on the LSE. A FTSE 250 traded played like a penny stock with some 80+% drop, way out of proportion to what remains a set of very resolvable issues.

Most iis never buy cheap stocks, they only ever buy in when it's recovered to the point of being slightly expensive. Hence why pension funds are so bad. The fact is that since Dec 9th the board of Tullow have not issued a single statement that would give a strong reason to buy into the company stock. However in reality we are only a few weeks on from "the purge" and I imagine the board agreed to say nothing until after the review is complete otherwise it risks making a mockery of the review itself.

That's what I really don't get, Tullow was it a far worse positon a few years ago and its share price held at reasonable levels. What has happened since December is inexplicably extreme. The share performance is worse than if they'd arrested all the board for financial crime and announced that the accounts were totally made up.

Companies don't collapse because their shares get pushed down.

Actually given the improvements in Ghana I would not be suprised to see 2020 production at mid 80k bopd average.
