no quick turn around22 Jan 2020 10:06
Unfortunately until they get a CEO on board communication will be limited as they won't say anything that may be overturned by the CEO who must be allowed to implement their own strategy. It is a shame this leaves is shareholders adrift in the meantime. I don't anticipate an announcement on CEO until March simply because these things take time.
The is a good argument for promoting an internal candidate who already knows the company inside out and can assume the position at low cost. However, the market might appreciate an external candidate who can bring a totally fresh perspective.
I want the new CEO to bring an immediate focus on Ghana, Uganda, Kenya. Some issues are outside Tullow's control, such as Africa Oil financial issues re Kenya, however there is a great deal that an effective CEO could do and it might require some deft deal making.
