I'm still a little confused though. I can see they have surplus capital, and buying back shares is an option, but what exactly is the benefit to the Company if it doesn't reduce total dividend pay-out?

It also means that the Company can't think of anything else to do with the money. Investments for example.

I've said this before. As far as I can see from reading the relevant information released that 'expressions of interest' have been sought.

These as you should be aware are documents asking for Companies to say whether they would be interested in tendering if or when a tender were to be issued. These Companies would then be assessed and/or interviewed and either included on the tender-list or not.

This as I understand it, is as far as we've got. Tenders not yet issued, let alone awarded. Don't believe the misinformed/misleading posts by others here.

Well, if you're any good at civil engineering, you will understand the difference between seeking expressions of interest and issuing a tender, followed by accepting a tender and agreeing a contract.
