Quite possibly some funds just had to sell in response to FTSE relegation.

It wasn’t a surprise but many probably had to wait for confirmation.

Certainly would have driven auction selling.

Blackrock reduced.

They sold 4.5m first few days of Mar/end Feb.

Just institutions reducing causing sell pressure.

FTSE100 futures only currently down 29pts

You are right but it’s implied.

However it clearly states the two are parallel discussions confirming the two are unconnected.

Its a wise strategy to have options and increases their leverage in any takeover discussions.

I assume that’s why it was leaked.

Makes sense.

The FT article concerning refinancing makes it clear that these discussions started before the takeover approach.

Not sure it tells us anything except they are looking at various options

That was Friday numbers so THG needs more as both others increased today.

THG needs to get over 35.1p and Atalaya Mining and/or JP Morgan European Growth need to not go up. If they drop it helps but unlikely as not volatile stocks.

But one day to go?

I am hopeful as we are very close to a technical bounce from c. 33.8 but its by no means certain we will retake that level tomorrow?

Wood Group aren’t out yet and are actually ‘in play’ anyway with an expected bid outstanding - By 25th March without extension.

Very different situation.

THG’s current valuation leaves them in a very precarious position.

Without promotion into the FTSE250 at the very least the price decline will accelerate as the few institutional investors they have start to sell out as THGs valuation starts to drop below their minimum valuation thresholds. It’s more than likely that’s already started and helped fuel the weekly 10% declines that accelerated with a huge volume increase on Friday in closing auction. THG needs fresh institutional monies desperately that joining the FTSE250 brings with it.

Watch and pray.

The cut off is EOP 4th with announcement after close on 5th

It’s our only chance or should I say if we don’t succeed in joining FTSE 250 expect a sustained decline into the low 20s then???

It really is vital we get it!

FTSE250 inclusion is vital for a sustained share price recovery.

I/we have been over waiting over 4 years for it!

It still possible if we retake first 33.8p then onwards for 17 trading hours!

It’s possible.

Sadly that doesn’t matter.

Once in the FTSE250 the automatic demotion level is much much lower.

That won’t help.

We need to retake 37p as a minimum to get in to FTSE250 automatically.

Many of the shorts will just be hedges for Institutional longs.

The hedge funds will be shorting on their behalf.

They are the only shorts with a secure exit if necessary so they are used by many to supply heldges at minimum cost.

That’s what the current share price certainly indicates.

My only concern is that with the current price of 37p, it doesn’t indicate much much market optimism for a high bid much above 40-60p?

On the positive the original RNS on 14th encouraged existing investors to take no action ie not to selling at the recently potential bid boosted price.
