Extract of Approval
NOW THEREFORE IT IS ORDERED:
The AOGCC authorizes Great Bear to flare gas in association with a long-term production test of
the Alkaid #2 well in accordance with the following conditions:
1. This authorization expires three full months after production begins (i.e. if production
begins in mid-December 2022 this authorization will expire on March 31, 2023). The
AOGCC may, at its discretion, extend this authorization in three month increments, not to
exceed nine months total, based on its analysis of the quarterly reports required in Condition
3 below.
I interpret this as first 3 months only granted now, with potential extension to 9 months in 3 month blocks..?
MEM
from the SDX TRADING AND OPERATIONS UPDATE this am:
In Morocco, preparations continue for the recommencement of the drilling campaign that was suspended in December 2021. The first of up to seven wells to be drilled in the next year is expected to spud in late July 2022.
I assume they are using the Star Valley Rig?
Do we know how many wells they are planning to drill before the rig is available to PRD?
Cebo - guess you called it correct.
"The current tanker will not, NOT be unloading Oil, Water, Gas, Diamonds, Gold or any other substance, it will be out there, IMO, conducting routing trials - probably before moving to one of the other BP FPSOs WoS tomorrow to do a full offload. EndEx"
The Schiehallion oilfield FPSO:
The Glen Lyon began producing on 15th May 2017.
Someone having a Blond(ie) moment..?
AK, my reckoning aligns with Alexios:
2006 - Drilled dry well (Wellington sandstone)
2009 - Drilled successful Lancaster well under frontier licence P1368 and discovered light oil in fractured basement.
2010 - HUR undertook drilling and testing of Lancaster sidetrack well which flowed at approx 2,500 bopd
2010 - HUR drilled Whirlwind basement prospect and suspended well for subsequent testing.
2011 - HUR re-entered Whirlwind for testing and successfully brought light oil and gas to surface confirming a volatile oil or gas condensate discovery (well suspended for future ops).
2016 - Lancaster Well 205/21a-7 well spud 6 July 2016
2016 - Lincoln Well spud 8 Nov 16
2017 - HUR announces spud of well 205/23-A (the "Halifax Well") on 15 Jan 17
2019 - HUR 205/26b-C well ("Warwick Deep") was spudded at 18:48 hrs on 16 Apr19
Have I missed any?

"The Minister of Energy has confirmed his intention that the GSA covers all of the gas to be produced from the recently awarded Tendrara Production Concession,"
and email reply last week from Garry Dempster which included:
. The market fundamentals within Morocco are strong and there is sufficient domestic demand in country (existing CCGTs) to offtake the expected quantity to be delivered from the existing approved production concession area. The GME link to Europe is there as you point out but it is not our current focus.
It's worth reading the recent Predator Oil RNS (15.02.19), which includes the following:
- The Moulouya Prospect lies just 9 kilometres from the Maghreb gas pipeline where significant spare capacity exists for the transport of gas either for domestic use or for export to the European Union.
- Gas prices in Morocco are currently higher than UK National Balancing Point (NPB) prices for domestic delivery. Any future gas exports will be priced at NPB prices.
(The latest data I can find for UK NPB spot price is 44.2 p/therm which is 458 p/mcf or $6.03/mcf).
2019 Q1 Investor presentation on Sound website, slide7:
GSA under discussion (Offtake expected to be either domestic power plants for gas-to-power generation (transit via GME line) or export to Southern Europe)
It is definitely a positive statement in this weeks RNS that all the gas is all for local consumption, and that there is no plan to export any gas to Europe. This still gives Sound the chance to achieve the $8/mcf that has previously been guided.
SO / PNE
drill/model, Edison report and basin model are all topics more under SOUs direct control for release timing ;-)
I know JPs track record is not great, but we're moving into different times and I will be really disappointed if no news before the event next Thursday.
on the move?
